May 🍁💄💆🏻♀️
What a month May was! Running a business always keeps me busy and my days are definitely varied.
From facials and consults to emails, marketing, admin, packing orders, social media, product photos needing updating, stock issues, website tweaks…
Never a dull moment 🤣 But I love it!
Plus we had Mother’s Day, birthdays and my sister got married! Which I was honoured to be able to do my mum’s makeup for it 🥰
I don’t usually share too much of my personal life but my family, especially my mum, played a big part in me becoming a beauty therapist.
And I may not do makeup anymore but I will always love it! And it is what actually led me to beauty therapy as well.
I also could not do it all without Scott, my partner! Always there supporting me and helping in the background, working weekends taking product photos for me, even carrying my makeup case and table for the occasional makeup… oh and did most of the work renovating the clinic in the first place!
And a massive thank you to my amazing clients! I absolutely love helping you with your skin and will never take for granted what it really means for you to put your trust in me to help your skin. Thank you for being on this crazy journey with me 🤗🤍

DITL of a beauty therapist & skin clinic owner 🤍
A bit of facials, packing orders, facial notes, filming for socials, unpacking deliveries, adding products to my website, emails, posting to socials, washing an endless amount of towels… my days are varied but I love it 🤩
All to help people feel confident, comfortable and happy in their own skin 🤗
How amazing is that?! ✨🤩
But to also do it in a way that is considered, intentional, supportive and with so much kindness. That is my hope anyway. I will never take it for granted just what it means for someone to put their trust in me to help them 🤍
Go make today an amazing day ✨✨✨

Your skin tells a story, but it is not a reflection of your worth.
You are so much more than your skin 🤍
It can be so easy to get caught up in everything we wish was different… but your skin is not something to fight against.
It’s something to understand, support and care for.
I hope this is a gentle reminder to be kinder to yourself and your skin if you needed it today 🫶🏼

3 common mistakes I see when people are trying to address age management concerns 👇🏼
1️⃣ Thinking everything has to contain vitamin A
Vitamin A can be amazing for some skins… but not every skin tolerates it, and in some cases it may even be contraindicated.
That does not mean you can’t work on age management. There are so many other ingredients and options that can support the skin beautifully.
And if you are using vitamin A, it’s important to introduce it slowly and carefully — more is definitely not always better.
2️⃣ Using too many actives
I often see people layering acids, exfoliants and active products thinking it will get faster results… but it can actually leave the skin barrier impaired and unsupported.
An overwhelmed skin barrier is not a healthy skin barrier, and healthy skin is the foundation of good age management.
3️⃣ Not using sunscreen
SPF is hands down the number 1 age management product. That is a hill I will happily die on 😂
If you’re not using sunscreen consistently, you’re honestly making things much harder for yourself because the majority of visible skin ageing comes from UV exposure.
Wear your sunscreen every single day and remember to reapply throughout the day too 👏🏼
If you’re unsure what your skin actually needs, you’re always welcome to book an initial consultation and we can chat about your skin, concerns, goals and create a personalised plan to properly support your skin long term 🤍

Let’s try the new Tinted Lip Therapy in Blush 🩷
In case you missed it, SIMKA has a new Peptide Plumping Tinted Lip Therapy!!
And it comes in 3 colours (soon to be 4 colours… 🤫)
I thought I’d try the colour Blush today, which is a more pinky colour.
Perfect for those no makeup days or to chuck in your pocket or bag to touch up through out the day.
Plus they have a rating of SPF 15 🤩
Think:
Nourishing, hydrating, plumping, sun protection, antioxidants…. Basically just an amazing must have lip product 🙌🏼
And it is not sticky or super glossy or have that tingly, stingy feel either.
Have you tried these yet? Which is your fav colour?
Petal 🌸? Blush 🩷? Maple 🍁?
Let me know below!

POV: you’ve spent the last 6 years solely focused on skin and start developing strong opinions 😅
5 Hills I will die on as a skin-focused beauty therapist… without an explanation 🤭
1️⃣ You don’t need to destroy your skins barrier just to repair it again
2️⃣ Quick fixes don’t exist. One facial will not “fix” your skin overnight.
3️⃣ If you had to choose between skincare or facials… skincare wins every time
4️⃣ Constantly jumping between skincare trends, TikTok advice, influencer recommendations and random products rarely ends well.
5️⃣ Skin needs to be supported both topically and internally.
Bonus hill: Consistency and commitment wins every single time.
Doing something once or occasionally won’t get you very far. But it has to be the right things because consistently doing the wrong things for your skin won’t get you very far either 🫣
Good skin usually comes from:
The right routine.
The right support.
And giving things enough time to actually work.
It’s important to remember that no two skins are the same. Which is why what works for one person may not work for you.
Which is why my focus in clinic is about personalised skin support focused on long term results and healthy skin 🤍
Which one do you agree with most? 👀

Q: Injectables OR In Clinic Treatments 🤔
I got asked this question recently and it was basically from the perspective of what is best in terms of cosmetic injectables or skincare or in clinic treatments when it comes to age management or anti ageing concerns in the skin.
A: Now my goal when it comes to skin is how can we get it to a healthy, balanced, correctly functioning state.
And how you do that will vary, but I’m a huge believer in skincare and in clinic treatments, whilst being mindful as to what they actually are.
So when it comes to cosmetic injectables it is a whole different approach and isn’t about the health of the skin.
Meaning if you want to have cosmetic injectables then that is completely up to you. You need to do your own research around that.
But from the perspective of how the skin looks and the health of it, that is going to be your skincare and facials.
If you are not using SPF every day and good quality skincare that is right for your skin then you’re probably not going to be seeing the results you’re hoping for.
Because cosmetic injectables are not addressing skin health, strengthening the skins barrier, considering oxidative stress, supporting collagen and elastin, preventing pigmentation and so on.
My opinion is that skincare, SPF and facials is more important when it comes to trying to prevent premature ageing and considering the health of the skin.
But in terms of that bright, glowing, healthy skin… thats not injectables.
You also need to consider other things like diet, lifestyle, stress, sleep quality and so on.
You really need to have quite a broad approach when it comes to skin.
All those little things we do daily actually compound into big results.
Let’s focus on protecting the skin and preventing what we can.
If you’re not sure what skincare you should be using then book in for an Initial Consult and I can get you started on a personalised skincare plan for your skins needs ✨
[NOTE: I am not qualified in cosmetic injectables and do not have them done myself. This is not about if you should or shouldn’t have them, that is a personal choice and you need to do your own research and decide how y

Who else agrees with me?! 🤭
I guess not all facials are created equal…
And it breaks my heart when I hear some of the stories I hear about people’s experiences 🥹
But I honestly believe a good facial can change your whole day! 😌
What makes it an exceptional facial for you? I’d love to know your thoughts 💭
