There are hard days and there are easy days. Sometimes you need to be gentle on yourself to get through the days.
If it's too much to tidy the whole room, maybe just make the bed. If it feels too big to hang the washing out, maybe chuck it in the dryer.
There are small ways you can help yourself have a softer and easier day, without going overboard
I know for me at the moment on good days, I'll do an extra load of washing or prep a meal in advance, so on hard days I can breathe a little easier.
What is a glimmer from your day today?
Heat protection is important.
I recommend it.
I use it.
I want YOU to use it.
But… we need to have a little chat.
Because sometimes the problem isn't your heat protection.
It's you. You're the problem. 👀🔥
Heat protectant helps reduce the damage caused by heat styling but it doesn't give us permission to set the straightener to the temperature of the sun and repeatedly go over the same piece of hair until it surrenders.
A few things matter alongside your heat protection:
🔥 Use the lowest effective temperature for your hair.
🔥 Make sure your hair is completely dry before using straighteners or curling irons.
🔥 Avoid repeatedly going over the same section.
🔥 Keep the tool moving rather than holding it in one spot.
🔥 Give your hair some heat-free days when you can.
🔥 And yes… still use your heat protection.
Think of heat protectant as part of the protection plan, not permission to commit crimes against your hair.
Good products help.
But how you use your tools matters too.
Be nice to your hair. She's already putting up with enough. 💜
