I wanted to let you know that I will be taking a short break to travel to Ireland with my partner to spend some special time with family.

The clinic will be closed from Friday 7th August, with my first day back in clinic being Friday 4th September.

Family is incredibly important to us, and this trip has become one we need to make. I truly appreciate your understanding while I take this time away.

All patients that had consultations scheduled during this period have been contacted. I am so thankful for your understanding.

IMPOSTER SYNDROME… let’s talk about it 💛

Can I let you in on a little secret?

Sometimes I look at this beautiful business I’ve built from the ground up, scroll through other aesthetic nurses and injectors online, and think…

“What on earth am I doing here?”

Imposter syndrome is real.

I’m definitely not the stereotypical aesthetic nurse. I’m not super (or remotely!) skinny. I don’t speak as eloquently as some. I don’t have a chiselled jawline or sky-high cheekbones (although plenty of my patients do! 😆). I don’t have pouty lips, and I honestly don’t have a makeup routine.

Most days you’ll find me with a bare face, my hair thrown into a top knot, wearing one of my brightly coloured pairs of scrubs, and living in comfort. The only time makeup makes an appearance is for something special like a wedding or a gala… and if I’m completely honest, I’d still rather be in my trackies, curled up on the couch with my puppies and my kids (yes… in that order! 😂).

But here’s what I’ve learned…

I don’t need to fit someone else’s mould to be great at what I do.

Do I know everything? Absolutely not.

Have I made mistakes along the way? Yep.

Have there been some huge learning curves and a few “glitches in the matrix”? Without a doubt.

But every one of those moments has made me a better clinician, a better business owner, and a better person.

This little business has been built with a whole lot of hard work, late nights, determination, passion and heart. Today, it’s my full-time career, and it supports my little family.

And you know what?

I’m really proud of that.

I’m proud of my makeup-less face.

I’m proud of my messy top knot.

I’m proud of my colourful scrubs that somehow seem to make my patients smile before we’ve even started talking.

I might not fit the “traditional” aesthetic nurse image… and honestly, I don’t want to.
