Okay… I’ve officially reached the sensitive skin stage of pregnancy! Even my body wash is irritating me.

I wanted to share this because if your skin suddenly feels more sensitive, reactive, dry, itchy or just different during pregnancy… you’re definitely not alone.

During pregnancy, hormonal changes (especially increased estrogen and progesterone) can affect your skin barrier and immune response, making your skin more prone to irritation and sensitivity. Even products you’ve used for years can suddenly feel like they don’t agree with your skin.

A few things that have been helping me:
- Being really consistent with my tallow and focusing on repairing my skin barrier.

- Applying a thicker layer over the extra sensitive areas at night to help soothe and lock in moisture.

- Switching all of my makeup over to low-tox options. (Lust minerals is my fav! )

Welcome to our little Perth tallow skincare business!

What started as a small dream during maternity leave has grown into something I never could have imagined. A busy little business that I’m so incredibly proud of.

Tallow Eve started because I was searching for a solution for my own skin. I wanted to simplify my routine, move away from the products I was using, and find something more nourishing and intentional for my skin.

Now, I get to share this little dream of mine with so many other people and that honestly means the world.

Second pregnancy… and I’m doing my skincare completely differently!

Mum to mum, nobody tells you how much pregnancy can change your skin.

The dryness, sensitivity, random irritation… it can feel like your skin isn’t yours anymore.

I started simplifying my routine and focusing on nourishing my skin barrier and this little swap has become one of my everyday essentials.

But because everything I put on my body suddenly felt more important.

I started reading ingredient lists, simplifying my routine and choosing products I felt good about using every day.

Ironically, pregnancy also made my skin more sensitive.

Dryness, irritation, random flare-ups and even perioral dermatitis during my first pregnancy.

That’s when I discovered tallow.

This pregnancy, it’s been one of the only products I’ve consistently reached for. My skin feels calmer, more nourished, and keeping my routine simple has made such a difference!
