So let us all introduce ourselves! Really, it's not that scary, is it? My name is Ming Thomson and I founded the WA Business Owners Club. I wanted an avenue to socially connect, bounce ideas, and learn new things from like-minded people who understand what its like to be your own boss (or aspiring to be!). So 3 short questions to introduce yourselves with 3 short answers!
1. What is your business and what does it do?
2. What prompted you to start your business?
3. What types of events do you hope to see as part of the WA Business Owners Club?
P.S. Aspiring business owners welcome too!

Did you know that small businesses (less than 20 staff) make up 96.7% of all WA businesses? And that there are over 218,000 businesses operating in WA? (Source: ABS Counts of Australian Businesses).
Have a look at the pyramid below - more than 60% of WA businesses are non-employing which means they are likely to be sole traders, which means there are a lot of business owners who are running their businesses on their own. Hopefully WABOC (oh uh I'm using the acronym for WA Business Owners Club already!) will be a great social outlet for them!

Why a Business Owners Club? There are a few associations and organisations which help small businesses to grow. They provide business advice and resources to help you grow your own business. They often have 'social networking' events, but these are usually "add-ons" and often have a business/mentoring/guest speaker component to it. The WA Business Owners Club have a mission to provide good food, entertainment, drink and great fun for business owners - socialising comes first! But if you really can't help yourselves and you want to negotiate business deals, then that's great too!

So how do you join the club? Simple! The only criteria is that you have to be a business owner - that's it! (or you are wanting to become a business owner and like to mingle with us!). No fees, no sign-ups, nutta, zilch. Just like and follow our page and subscribe to our events so you get notified of upcoming social do's!

Welcome! The WA Business Owners Club has been created to ensure that business owners have a social outlet outside of business hours. Owning and managing your own full-time business can be a challenging and isolating experience, and this club was formed to provide socially engaging events through good food, drink and the company of like-minded people. It's an opportunity for all business owners to take a break, meet new people and learn new things. Be on the lookout for our inaugural event coming soon!
