Watching these incredible people cross the finish line at Race The Sun this weekend reminded us exactly who we’re here to support.
People who show up, put in the work and keep going!
Congratulations to each one of you. You earned every metre of it.

The hip is a ball and socket joint. One of the most mobile in the body.
Running treats it like a hinge.
Forward and back. Thousands of cycles. Almost entirely in one plane.
The TFL, glute med and hip flexor complex (the muscles along the outside and front of the hip) are part of a system designed to move in multiple directions. When the hip only ever hinges, they become the whole system. They take on load they were never designed to sustain at high volume.
The result: persistent tightness that doesn't respond to stretching. IT band issues that keep returning. Lower back tension without an obvious cause.
These aren't separate problems. They're the same pattern. A joint operating below its capacity, and the surrounding tissue paying the price.
The fix isn't stretching the hip flexor.
It's giving the hip the range it's been denied.
More on that soon.

This client came to Opna because she wanted to make recovery a practice, not something she got to when things broke down.
A demanding lifestyle and a nervous system she describes as rarely getting to fully settle.
She has never fallen asleep during a massage. Until her sessions with Opna.
Her WHOOP data in the days following.
89% recovery, HRV tracking 16% above her 30-day baseline, 61% deep sleep in a single nap (during the massage).
The nervous system doesn't produce numbers like this by accident. It produces them when it's been consistently given space to do what it's designed to do.
This is what the practice builds. Not in one session. Over time.

When the body is carrying last week:
The decisions are slower.
The training has less in it
The focus drops faster.
The tolerance for difficulty narrows.
Not because your less capable. Because the body is allocating resources to management instead of performance.
What Opna does is reduce that load. Systematically, session by session, until the version showing up is closer to what you’re actually capable of.
That’s not a treatment outcome.
That’s the point of the practice.

The conditions in the Ka'iwi Channel are unpredictable by nature. Swell, wind and current. None of it is negotiable on race day.
What is negotiable is how well the body and mind are prepared to handle sustained demand when the conditions turn.
That's where the preparation work happens. Not on race day, in the weeks and months before it.
The bodywork clears accumulated tension so the body can train at the volume M2O preparation requires without breaking down.
The breathwork trains the nervous system to stay regulated when the body is at its limit. To hold form, hold pace, hold composure when the channel is doing everything it can to take those things away.
This is what Opna is building with Harro between now and July 26th.
Not a fix. A preparation.

51.5 kilometers. Open ocean. The Ka’iwi Channel.
The Molokai 2 Oahu Paddleboard World Championships is one of the most demanding endurance events on the planet. A crossing that asks everything of the body and the mind, simultaneously, for hours.
The kind of challenge Opna was built for.
We’re proud to be working alongside side as he prepares for M2O 2026. Supporting his recovery, breathwork, and the physcial and mental capacity the channel will demand of him.
The work is already underway. July 26th is the deadline.
Welcome to the team Harro 🤝
There’s a version of high performance that doesn’t require you to borrow from next week to pay for this one.
Most high performers are operating on borrowed capacity.
It works until it doesn’t.
The ones who stay at a high level aren’t the ones who push hardest. They’re the ones who understood earliest that recovery isn’t separate from performance.
It’s the infrastructure of it.
Opna is for the person who’s ready to stop borrowing.
Calves = performance gold.
Think they’re just for looks? Wrong.
They’re your springs! Absorbing impact and powering every stride, every hill, every sled push.
But when they’re tight?
That’s when the problems start... Achilles pain, shin splints, slower recovery, and even reduced performance.
Whether you’re training for a race, chasing a PB, or just trying to keep your body moving between work and life, your calves are doing way more than you think.
A proper recovery session can help:
-Release built-up tension
-Boost circulation
-Improve stride efficiency
-Keep you running stronger, for longer
Don’t wait until they scream for attention.
Treat them.
