Tint application is a crucial part of a brow service. The cleaner the application, the crispier the end result will be.

When doing an ombré brow service or any other form of eyebrow tattooing. I will never outline the brows first.
The reason for this?
Nobody wants heavy edges. We want perfectly blended results and outlining the brows makes it harder to blend the lines in.
Why bother spending time mapping out the brows with pencils at the start of your service if you’re not actually going to use them as a guide?
Instead I use white mapping paste around the edges of my clients brows and immediately start the first pass.
After the first pass over, there should be enough pigment in the skin for you to confidently wipe away the paste and continue following the pigment as a guide.
We all know eyebrows with blocky fronts are unappealing. This method of removing and blending the stain of the tint will leave you with flawless results every time.
Use a wet cotton tip to remove excess tint, blend through with a mascara wand and wipe away any excess that has spread to onto the skin outside your brow shape.

The “squiggle” is a commonly used technique amongst brow artists to check that the step one serum is properly processed in a brow lamination service.
While it is important to check the brow hairs are fully saturated, at this stage of the service the hairs are at their most fragile state.
Aggressively brushing the hairs down and up increases the risk of breakage and long term damage.

Initial ombré tattoo session prep and result!
This colour will fade to a light brown. We always opt to go lighter on our first pass over to avoid trauma to the skin, better colour saturation and it leaves room to build pigment at our touch up appointment.

Okay let’s talk old tattoos..
You can see in the before photo our client Alycia has an old tattoo that has turned ashy and dark. Pair that with natural dark hairs and the brows can begin to feel heavy.
Our trick?
We lightened her brow hairs slightly with bleach to take out the heaviness and then tinted with a warmer brown tint. Leaving a softer, taupe coloured brow that really makes her eyes pop! Paired with a lash lift to really complete the service 😮💨
