Did you know breast cancer is the most common cancer affecting women?

I’ve signed up to the International Women’s Day Fun Run on Sunday 12 March, to help Mater Chicks in Pink fund practical breast cancer support services.

It’s going to be Queensland’s biggest celebration of women, and I’m hoping to raise funds for women like Keirson…

I won’t cover it up: I’ve had an awful time with this wretched disease.

But through all my treatment over the last 7 years, one thing has stood out above everything else.

It’s that the support of friends like you makes ALL the difference when you’re going through a diagnosis and intense treatment.

I promised my Dad that I would kick cancer’s ass. That I’d get on with it and beat it.

Well, cancer’s thrown everything it’s got at me, but I’m still here."

Mater Chicks in Pink is able to care for many women like Keirson with breast cancer by providing them with practical support, and they’re also funding research into making treatments more effective, so fewer lives are lost.
