Today’s Being With Your Body practice is a simple forearm massage

Many of the muscles responsible for moving the fingers and wrists are located in the forearms, which means tension held here can often contribute to discomfort in the hands and wrists.

This gentle massage technique can help soften tight tissues, improve circulation, and bring relief to these areas.

A small moment of care for your hands, wrists, and the muscles that support them bc they are so damn important!!

Today’s Being With Your Body practice focuses on the hands and wrists

These gentle stretches can help release tension, improve mobility, and support the tissues that work so hard for us every day.

Particularly helpful for anyone experiencing tightness from repetitive movements, desk work, music, art making, massage, or as part of a preventative approach to RSI and carpal tunnel symptoms.

The ventral branch of the vagus nerve is part of the parasympathetic nervous system and is closely connected to our sense of safety, calm and connection with others.

When this pathway is active, it supports what’s often called the “social engagement system” — influencing things like facial expression, tone of voice, breathing and heart rate when we feel relaxed and regulated.

Rhythm has always felt super healing to me

Over the past 12 years I’ve explored different forms of drumming, rhythm and sound as a way of connecting with the body, nervous system and altered states of consciousness. Through courses in chakra drumming and therapeutic rhythm practices, I became fascinated by the way repetitive rhythms can affect the brain, emotions and the felt experience of the body.

The hang drum feels particularly meditative for me — grounding, regulating and really calming to play. There’s something about rhythm that can gently bypass the thinking mind and bring us back into presence.

I’ve been thinking about sharing more of this side of my work and exploration — perhaps different rhythms connected to different chakras, nervous system states, or emotional landscapes.

If this is something you’d be interested in seeing more of, let me know ✨

A gentle body scan and a few deep breaths to help slow things down for a moment.

Sometimes we move through the day without noticing how much tension, holding or overwhelm we are carrying. Practices like this can help bring awareness back to the body and invite the nervous system into a softer state ✨

No need to change or fix anything — just noticing what’s there.

Today’s focus: the sternocleidomastoid muscle (SCM) — one of the major muscles of the neck that helps with head movement, posture, and breathing.

When this muscle becomes tight or overworked, it can contribute to neck and jaw tension, headaches, and TMJ discomfort.

This practice offers some gentle massage and release techniques to help soften the area and reconnect with the body through touch and awareness ✨

As the winter sets in, the hot stones are coming out!

Winter calls for warmth. Hot stone massage can be especially supportive during the colder months, helping to soften tight muscles, ease tension, improve circulation and bring a deep sense of grounding and relaxation

There is something so nourishing about warmth being worked slowly into the body when everything outside feels cold.

Message me or book through the link in my bio for one of these beautiful treatments 💜
