Holding on to make it through the day. Holding on to cope with the struggles of life. They are all examples of holding on.

What if instead of holding on, you just let go?

Doesn't holding on also mean holding on to the sadness and struggle?

What if you just let it go?

Then there would be no holding on and space will begin to emerge; space for softness, joy and light.

If you continue to hold on, it's difficult for anything else to come in.

So let go, let go, let go.

Remember that you are enough, that you are whole and complete within and of your self.

You do not need another to complete you, you do not need to compete to prove who you are or what you are capable of achieving.

In your own fullness, your own being, you are enough.

You are love, pure and unconditional.

You are grace personified.

We never really know what's going on for another person. On the surface it may seem as if life is perfect and that they have everything they've ever dreamed of, but at times when the nights are quiet, when there is no-one to see them, the face they show the world softens to expose what lies beneath. When this happens, a moment of humility spreads through them as they acknowledge that despite their best efforts, life has a way of taking them on a journey that doesn't always align with their own desires.

Breathing deeply into that space, into that feeling, helps to connect with its centre so that it can slowly dissolve, softening the struggle so that they can see the light and continue moving in a forward direction with acceptance and grace.

Note to Self

Remember your past is exactly that, your past and all those experiences are what have helped create the you of today. Without the lessons you wouldn't have the depth of understanding that you do and this in itself is the greatest gift.

Life has a depth about it that at times is hard to fathom, and it is patience that eventually brings about the understanding. So be patient as you traverse through the mountains and valleys, look for the sunrises each day and have faith that at the end will be a meadow with a clear brooke where you can rest and enjoy your journey so far.

When we bring awareness to the tasks in our lives they become lighter. Whatever your work might be, bring all of yourself to it. Be fully alert as you move. Notice the position of your body in space and the feelings in your body.

Pay attention to the thoughts that enter your mind and see if you can let them go. Keep bringing your focus to the present moment and notice how your attitude changes.

Finding moments of peace and ways to anchor ourself in the gentleness that comes from Heart is a daily practice that opens us to love, compassion and forgiveness.

We are not perfect beings. We make errors, say things we don’t mean and behave in ways we later regret. This is part of accepting our duality and that of those around us.

It takes courage, vulnerablity and humility to admit when we have transgressed. Giving, receiving forgiveness can also be challenging, whether it’s forgiving another or oneself, yet this is part of the process of healing and personal growth.

Be kind. Be compassionate. Be loving. Be forgiving.

On the wings of change

Note to Self

Just like the changing seasons, which each bring another aspect of beauty into our lives, so do the changes in our self as we move through the various emotions and experiences of our day.

I know that some of the experiences may seem harsh similar to the dead of winter, but each winter is followed by a spring. The same applies with emotions. After the deluge of rawness comes a softness that brings forth new emotions of understanding and an acceptance that life has to go through its motions, just as we do.

So I embrace each aspect of the elements, each of the emotions good or sad because with each experience comes another level of understanding of the nature of the human spirit and what it's capable of moving through.
