Are you team candlelight or team garden view?
A personalized skin protocol is more than products and techniques.
It is also about creating the right environment.
When the body relaxes, the experience changes.
The touch feels different.
The mind slows down.
The ritual becomes deeper.
Whether you are drawn to the softness of candlelight or the serenity of our garden-facing cabins, every detail is designed with intention.
Because at Alchimie, care is never only about the skin.
URBAN SKIN STRESS
Pollution is not only an environmental topic. It is also a skin topic.
Repeated exposure to smoke, traffic pollution, construction dust, fine particles and NO₂ can increase oxidative stress at skin level. Over time, this may disturb barrier function and contribute to inflammation.
In predisposed skins, pollution can be one of the factors involved in pigmentation, acne flare-ups, rosacea, sensitivity and premature visible ageing.
The solution is not “detox”.
The solution is daily protection.
Cleanse well.
Mist after hard water.
Support the barrier with niacinamide.
Use SPF.
Protect with Day Dream, our urban shield moisturiser.
Day Dream contains biotech-based actives, including Asteriscus graveolens extract, selected to help support skin resilience against urban environmental stress.
In the cabin:
Aquapeel for deep cleansing and hydration.
LED to calm and support recovery.
Less fear. More skin intelligence.
Many people assume professional skin treatments should be avoided during summer.
In reality, summer is often when the skin needs thoughtful support.
Heat, UV exposure, perspiration, sunscreen build-up and environmental stress can all affect hydration levels, barrier function and skin clarity. For many skins, stopping care altogether often creates more imbalance than continuing with an adapted protocol.
The key is not to stop treatment.
It’s to choose the right treatment, at the right intensity, with the right active ingredients.
Our Aqua Peel combines gentle exfoliation, personalized actives and restorative massage to keep the skin comfortable, balanced and resilient throughout the season, without compromising the skin barrier.
This treatment was performed by Lory, whose passion for skin science and attention to detail make her one of the strongest protocol specialists on our team.
Because healthy skin isn’t built through isolated treatments.
It’s built through consistency, observation and adaptation.
THE HERO INGREDIENT TRAP — PART 3
Rinse-off vs. leave-on.
One of the biggest skincare misconceptions is assuming that an ingredient works the same way in every product.
But contact time changes everything.
A salicylic acid cleanser and a salicylic acid leave-on serum do not behave the same way on the skin.
The concentration may differ.
The formulation may differ.
The delivery system may differ.
And most importantly:
the exposure time is completely different.
A rinse-off product may stay on the skin for less than a minute.
A leave-on product may stay for hours.
That changes pe*******on, tolerance and overall skin response.
And this is where skincare becomes more nuanced.
An ingredient is not automatically “good” or “bad.”
What matters is:
— concentration
— formulation
— frequency
— skin compatibility
— barrier condition
— and protocol logic.
I personally don’t tolerate every salicylic acid product well.
Some formulas are too aggressive for my skin.
Others work perfectly in specific contexts.
For example, I may use certain formulas locally on congestion around the chin or on periods of closed comedones.
But acne and congestion are rarely solved by one product alone.
Sometimes the skin needs:
— barrier repair
— anti-inflammatory support
— hydration regulation
— bacterial control
— keratolytic support
— or a completely different molecule altogether.
This is why randomly layering strong actives can quickly become counterproductive.
And why protocol matters more than trends.
Next LAB REPORT:
why the “right molecule” matters more than choosing the most popular acne ingredient.
There is no “summer body.”
There is your body.
The one that holds tension, loses flow, stores what hasn’t been released, and asks, quietly, to be heard.
At Alchimie, body protocols are not built around correction.
They are built on regenerative care: circulation, drainage, tissue response, nervous system regulation.
Science that listens. Touch that restores.
Not to reshape you into something seasonal.
But to help you feel lighter, softer, and more present, in the body you already live in.
When you’re ready, DM BODY and we’ll guide you toward the right protocol.
A little behind the scenes of a day at Alchimie :
Some treatments.
Some team talks.
Some learning.
Some planning.
Some small details most people never see.
Because behind every treatment is a team working to create an experience that feels thoughtful, calm and personal.
At Alchimie, we believe the experience starts before the treatment and continues after you leave.
THE HERO INGREDIENT TRAP — PART 2
This Reel is intentionally simplified.
Because cosmetic formulation is far more nuanced than:
“this ingredient works” or “this ingredient doesn’t.”
A lower concentration is not automatically a bad formulation.
Some actives are intentionally kept lower to:
– improve tolerance
– reduce irritation risk
– increase stability
– fit sensitive skin
– or make a product easier for daily use.
And yes, some ingredients are effective at very low percentages.
Hyaluronic acid is a good example.
Retinol is another: more is not always better.
But concentration still matters when you expect a specific result.
Especially with ingredients associated with acne, pigmentation or exfoliation, understanding:
– formulation
– contact time
– consistency
– delivery system
– skin compatibility
– and concentration
helps you understand what a product is realistically designed to do.
A “hero ingredient” on the label does not automatically mean therapeutic-level efficacy.
And this is where skincare becomes more complex than trends or marketing claims.
At Alchimie, we look at skin through protocols:
not just ingredients, but how a formula interacts with YOUR skin, at a specific moment, over time.
Because skincare is rarely about one ingredient alone.
PART 3:
leave-on vs wash-off formulations.
A slower moment for the scalp, face and nervous system.
Our Japanese Head & Face Spa combines scalp analysis, deep cleansing, massage and hydration rituals designed to support scalp balance and deep relaxation.

LAB REPORTS #1
The 1% rule, and why it matters.
This is the first “loophole” I want to explain from our salicylic acid body wash reel.
In the EU, ingredients above 1% must be listed in descending order of concentration.
But ingredients below 1% can be listed in any order.
That means once a formula reaches the “under 1% zone,” the ingredient list becomes much harder to read from the outside.
So when we see salicylic acid placed low in a rinse-off cleanser, we cannot know the exact percentage, but we can read the formula structure.
In this case, most of the formula space is already taken by:
water, aloe, surfactants, humectants and stabilizers.
So salicylic acid may be present, but it does not appear to be the dominant functional part of the product.
And here is the important nuance:
Consumers often associate salicylic acid with acne.
But an ingredient being present does not automatically mean the product works like an acne treatment, especially when it is rinsed off after a few seconds.
This product may support oily or blemish-prone skin.
But support is not the same as a targeted acne protocol.
Next Lab Report: the Hero Ingredient Trap.
Because sometimes the ingredient leading the marketing is not the ingredient leading the formula.
