MISS HEALTH AND WELLNESS BOTSWANA 2021/2022 MS CAROLINE BASUPI GAVE HER FINAL SPEECH AND HER FINAL WALK🥺❤️IT WAS AM EMOTIONAL MOMENT FOR OUR QUEEN 🙏😍
HER SPEECH, "Wretchedness, anguish, despondency, worthlessness, confusion, helplessness and hopeless – feelings I had hanging over my shoulders in January 2021 when I finally decided to take a step towards my healing and bettering my mental health, and being part of a movement that has one of its branches touching on what was then my current desert, Miss Health and Wellness Botswana was indeed that one thing I needed but was unaware.
The opportunity came when I was at my gloomiest moment ever, and a tiny little voice whispered at the back of my mind saying “ this is the chance for you to escape your wilderness, use the talent God blessed you with to take back your power, strength and smile, with a Bible scripture from the book of Jeremiah 29: 11 which says;
11 For I know the plans(A) I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper(B) you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.(C)
This crown to me meant more than just a title, it was a reminder of the giant, a fighter, an overcomer, a visionary, the chief corner stone that God created me to be under this earth. It was both an honour and a privilege to be only the face, but the mouth piece and ambassador of all health related issues in our nation. With the realisation of mental health issues like depression anxiety, bipolar and many others being prevalent and raising to the standard of being labelled a pandemic in our nation...my team and I decided to use our voices to raise awareness and sensitize people through our voices. Through this platform I managed to successfully launch Heart and Soul with Carol, a podcast that is aimed at disencumbering harsh and unbearable experiences and journeys people have travailed and overcame for I strongly believe that through those stories hope, willingness to live and do better and an overall better perspective towards can be created upon the minds of our youth not only locally but I internationally. Remember the mind is the power house and if you if the mind is overpowered we can go no way.
Time and health are two precious assets that we don’t recognize and appreciate until they have been depleted. Anne Wilson Scaef.
Though my reign comes to an end today, the project still continues.
I’d like to offer my deepest gratitude to the directors and the entire Miss Health and Wellness Botswana team, my parents, friends and family for the tremendous support throughout my reign and mostly the almighty God for the talent and wisdom he’s bestowed upon me and pray he continues to help me touch and transform lives through my voice and smile..."
