Since everyone else is doing it! 😂 I do have to admit it was really hard to find photos from 2016 since I was in makeup school at that year and all the photos are of me in makeup, doing makeup, or something to do with makeup 😂

‼️This is a mock car crash! THIS IS NOT REAL‼️

I am feeling so many things right now, as the town I live in is experiencing flooding again, just 4 years after the first time...

I'm reflecting on when I had the privilege of applying makeup for the Abbotsford Police Department and ICBC while creating a mock car crash to show the dangers of impaired driving. Seeing the first responders treat this mock crash as if it was a real crash scene. It really hits home differently looking at these photos today.

My heart is with everyone who is being impacted by the floods. I didn't realize how triggering it was this week for me, even though I didn't get displaced last time, I know folks who did. I remember the smell of the water- the panic, devastation, and distress... The loss.

I guess I just want to remind everyone as we are impacted by floods, and it's Christmas time... to Drive safe, Follow Road Closures and Don't Drive Impaired! We don't need any more loss around the holidays.

Hey Friends! has voting open for non-profits to get $1000! I personally have voted for in Abbotsford , as they have been super intentional in helping to create more inclusive spaces for the artist in Abbotsford.

I often partner with them with my work at . However I also personally attend their Open Studio which is an awesome FREE event! Seeing how welcoming the space is for different cultures, neurodivergent folk, people part of the 2SLGBTQA+ , or just young emerging artists has been truly amazing. I have been privileged enough to meet some good friends through this program, and currently have my art hanging in the Open Studio Show 🖤

I am beyond proud to see so many of my paintings up on the wall of my favorite store! 𝗠𝘆 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴𝘀 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘀𝗵𝗼𝘄𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗮𝘁 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗔𝘂𝗴𝘂𝘀𝘁 𝟭𝟬- 𝗦𝗲𝗽𝘁𝗲𝗺𝗯𝗲𝗿 𝟲𝘁𝗵, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟰.

There is a sense of vulnerability I have when I see all my struggles, thoughts, feelings pinned to a wall like this. I've never seen so many of my paintings put up like this before, and it's kind of euphoric. It's amazing to see my paintings being taken out into the world after I've kept them hidden for so long. When I was putting up my paintings, I truly saw how much of a collection I have. My style is Tiera-Fied. 😝🖤✨

𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀 𝗪𝗲 𝗡𝘂𝗿𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲

I’ll never forget my first time going to Foundry Abbotsford and coming out of my counselling session- I was in tears. I remember making a safety plan, I was at the lowest point I had ever been in my life. We had talked a lot about how the thoughts we tell ourselves and the things people say can really impact us, and it can become your narrative; but it doesn't need to stay that way- we can challenge those thoughts. That's what this piece is about. I played with the symbolism with birds feeding their young. The figure in yellow, surrounded by darkness, has no innocence or peace left in their wings. The yellow figure is feeding a narrative to the innocent child below, and you can start to see that the darkness is starting to surround the head space of the child. I’ll never forget how the counsellor said in my first session “ You need to keep making art, the world needs to see it.” This is what I created after that session, and I hope it fills you with hope that things can change, you are full of light, challenge those dark thoughts.

𝗛𝗲𝗮𝗱 𝗜𝗻 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗖𝗹𝗼𝘂𝗱𝘀

My goal when I was creating “Head In The Clouds” was to capture the whimsical feeling of being in love. You’ll see a girl standing with radiating skin, completely taken by the magic in the air, filling her head with thoughts of beauty. I don’t want to say too much about this piece because there are so many different elements to it, and just like people, love will have different meanings.

𝗘𝘅𝗽𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗱 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗙𝗿𝗮𝘀𝗲𝗿

This piece is what started it all. My art mentor at the time Donna Senft had lent me her metallic watercolours in hope that it might spark some extra inspiration in this piece- which was already turning out to be my favourite painting I had ever done. Lets just say it’s become a slight addiction now haha! I try to include elements of these metallic paints now in everything I do; because I believe it adds to the whimsical elements of the stories I create. I encourage people to look at this piece from different angles and watch as the metallic paints create lights that dance across the city skyline and stars that twinkle in the two bodies. As you look at this piece I hope it fills you with the magic of young love.

~𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟯 𝗥𝗲𝗰𝗮𝗽~

As 2023 comes to an end, I am nowhere, where I thought I'd be, but everywhere I want to be. I am beyond grateful for this wild, amazing, fulfilling journey that 2023 has been.

For those of you who know me in real life, you know how much of a planner I am, and if you can believe it... 😅 Yes, I have actually taken a HUGE step back this year and put a lot of trust in the universe, to see where it takes me. And - I'm pretty fu***ng happy where it's taken me. I cannot wait to see what 2024 has to bring.

Thank you to everyone who has been apart of my journey this year, this post was so hard to make because I couldn't fit everything in 🥹 just know how much I appreciate you all! 🖤

Throwback to 2015/2016 in makeup school when we were learning how to do Fantasy Makeup 😜💛 Can you tell this was my FAVORITE part of makeup school?
