If there’s one thing this industry has taught me, it’s that beauty service providers will bend over backwards to make our clients feel beautiful, confident, and taken care of… all while dealing with our own personal struggles behind the scenes.

But one thing I’m learning: your client’s emergency is not your emergency. Constantly overextending yourself and pouring from an empty cup only leads to burnout.

To all my fellow beauty providers, put yourself first too. Rest is important. Boundaries are important. Your health matters too. 🤍

The long hours, the high demand, repetitive motions, squeezing clients in, working through exhaustion, and constantly using your hands and arms eventually catches up to you. After a week of severe inflammation, nerve pain, and barely being able to move my arm properly… this hand brace is where I’m at.

I’ve been MIA on the content for the past week because honestly, I’ve been in pain trying to recover and just dealing with life. As stylists, we push through everything for our clients, even when our bodies are screaming at us to slow down.

The grind is cute until your body forces you to sit down. Sigh.

I love and appreciate every single client, but this is also a reminder to PLEASE pre-book your appointments and not wait until the last minute. Trying to accommodate everyone at once can lead to burnout and actual physical pain and exhaustion for your stylist.

We pour so much into making everyone else feel good, sometimes at the expense of ourselves.🤍
