I used to think building a business would teach me how to make more money.

Instead, it taught me the value of me.

The more I poured into my clients, my time, my energy, my expertise, and my heart… the more I realized what it actually feels like to be valued.

My clients respected my time.
They trusted my expertise.
They appreciated the care I put into every appointment.

Then one day I asked myself…

If I expect that level of respect in my business, why wasn’t I expecting the same in my personal life?

Do my friendships reflect that same respect?

Do the people around me genuinely celebrate me, or do they only appreciate what I can do for them?

Do my relationships make me feel valued, or simply available?

That question changed everything.

As I learned my worth professionally, I started recognizing it personally too.

Some relationships became stronger.

Others quietly fell away.

Not because anyone was a bad person, but because we no longer aligned in the way we valued one another.

One of the greatest gifts my business has given me wasn’t confidence.

It was clarity.

It taught me to create boundaries, protect my peace, and recognize the difference between being appreciated and simply being needed.

The standards I created for my business became the standards I chose for my life.

We are already half way in 2026 already 🫪

I don’t know about you but it seems time had flown and I look back the last 6 months I think, wow, we did a lot already and the year isn’t even done!

We got our keys to the studio in February, our team has grown to accommodate both the Southwestern and GTA side, and I am slowly getting in the groove of post more content 😮‍💨.

I have some rough moments as much as I have good moments and I can’t lie, this year I feel stretched to challenge myself even more and it’s humbling 🤣.

We’re halfway in, and now we’re halfway there!! Never forget how you started, where it got you, and the support you get along the way 💗🫶

Yesterday was such a fun day at Summer Soiree ☀️

I had the chance to meet so many amazing 2027 brides, chat about wedding plans, and provide express 💨 hairstyling services throughout the event.

One of my favorite things about attending bridal events is getting to connect with brides before the wedding day even arrives. Hearing about your venues, dresses, wedding visions, and all the excitement leading up to your big day is something I never take for granted.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by my chair and spent part of their evening with me. I truly appreciate the conversations and looking forward to seeing where your wedding journeys take you! 💍✨

I never realized how much of my connection to Vietnamese culture came through beauty and music.

As a kid, I just saw the hair, the makeup, the glamour, and my dad’s collection of cassette tapes. Looking back now, I realize there was so much more behind it.

What started as curiousity turned into a deeper appreciation for my family’s journey, my culture, and the generation that came before me.

It’s funny how the things you grew up around can teach you so much about who you are.

Also, apparently blue eyeshadow was a choice 😂

Lip tints have been making their way into so many of my bridal trial sessions lately and for good reason! 💋

I love using lip tints during trials because they give that soft, blurred, lived-in look while still being comfortable to wear throughout the day. Which lip tint shade would you wear on your wedding day?

This is my take when it comes to prospective brides ghosting vendors. To be honest, I’m pretty indifferent about it these days.

I get it. You’re in deep planning mode, comparing vendors, looking at pricing, paying deposits for venues, coordinating timelines, and making what feels like a hundred decisions for one single day. Sometimes responding to another email just becomes one more thing on an already overwhelming to-do list.

Here’s my hot take: ghosting has become pretty normalized in the wedding industry, and I’ve come to realize it’s not always about me.

I do think we’ve lost a little bit of etiquette when it comes to communication. As vendors, we’re taking the time to answer inquiries, review your needs, and put together custom quotes. A simple “Thank you, but I’ve decided to go another direction” goes a long way.

Not because anyone owes me a booking, but because you never know what’s happening behind the scenes of a small business.

The positive side? I’ve learned that communication is one of the biggest indicators of whether we’re a good fit. If communication is difficult during the inquiry stage, it’s usually a sign that we’re probably not the right match for each other anyway!
