Nano bead extensions: How do you choose the right bead colour?
Last week, I had a client come in for nano bead hair extensions. She has blonde hair with natural roots, and we needed to choose a bead colour that would blend as naturally as possible with her roots. The challenge? Her root colour was right between two shades.

Unlike K-tip extensions, nano beads come in a limited selection of colours, which makes matching some hair colours a little more challenging.

Here is a simple trick I recommend, especially if you are new to nano bead extensions. Switch your camera to black and white.
This helps you compare the lightness and darkness of the two shades without being distracted by the colour itself.

Still not sure? Sometimes, both shades can work. In this case, I would choose the darker shade. A slightly darker bead will usually blend more discreetly into the roots than a lighter one, making the attachment points less noticeable.

Finding the right hair for this client was tricky. This is a custom blend of real grey hair, created by my supplier specifically for her and shipped to me. Custom orders like this are SO rare, so when you finally find the perfect bundle, it honestly feels like winning the lottery 😂

I work with suppliers around the world: Canada, US, Ukraine, Poland, India, Vietnam, China, Iran, Myanmar and Brazil, which means I can source a lot of different types, colours and textures of hair. Sometimes it takes a little more time. Sometimes it costs a little more. But when you find the right bundle, that’s it. That’s the look.

Three years🤍
It’s been three years since we first installed this set of hair and we’re still reusing it. It was 24” when we started, and it’s now around 18”, but the quality is still amazing.

A big part of this is a team effort: me sourcing high-quality hair, and my client taking amazing care of it minimal heat, quality products, and proper maintenance. She invested in this hair three years ago and has been reusing it ever since.
This is a big achievement. It doesn’t happen often, and I’m honestly so proud of this set and of my client.

It’s been a while since I posted here…

Not because I haven’t been working. Quite the opposite, actually. 😅 I’ve been busy creating beautiful hair transformations, but somehow I just couldn’t find the energy to come back here. And to be honest, I didn’t even take many photos. In the moment, it just didn’t feel right.

Sometimes I wonder how people do it all. Be a hair artist, run a business, answer messages, do marketing, update a website, keep up with social media… and still have time for life.

I’m slowly learning that it’s okay to ask for help. It’s not easy when you care so much about every little detail, but I am slowly learning to delegate… So if you’ve been wondering where I’ve been… I’m here. Just working. ❤️
