B E KIND to all beings. I love this legend. I also feel like it would be the perfect entrance to heaven to see all the animals of your lifetime. What do you think? Imagine them all together to welcome you. Makes my heart hurt. - g xo

L A S T day of the year. We all look back to remember it all. All the seasons we injured. The sunlight and the rain. It existed for all of us. But the light shines out. Happy new year. - g xo

F A M I L Y. I loved creating this portrait for how cute is this young family? I love to take my time to draw these and capture the personality of the people. Sometimes it’s that little quality, the curl that always spirals perfectly, or that little smile line that makes their smile unique. I study the images and then pull out the parts that I see the as the unique characteristics that make them stand out. I wasn’t able to post a ton of my commissioned work this Xmas … as when they are gifts you cant! 🤫Thanks so much for supporting local and letting me be a part a a memory and time to cherish. -g xo

Sometimes you need to B E L E I V E . It’s always been a curiosity of mine to understand why we do all the “things” we do for Christmas. But one Xmas it occurred to me… what is the point of all this? What is the lesson we are trying to teach. Why so much effort into creating this story of a man that comes down your chimney and flies in the sky? It all made sense. Life will throw you hard things, and at times you have to muster up the imagination and the magic to carry on. You need to believe so you can make the best out of all of it. The magic of Christmas was clear. We are trying to teach the skill that when things are hard. You can get up and you will get through anything. That even reindeer can fly, and that people are good and do good. That magic does exist in our everyday. Maybe Santa and his elves are just the stories we tell to imagine peace, love and happiness. No matter how hard things are in this world we have to B E L E I VE it’s gonna get better. That IS the magic! Merry Xmas, joy, love and laughter to all! - g xo

W I L D and free. My walks always give me so much clarity. But watching my girl run and explore each moment and place with such excitement and curiosity reminds me to try to do the same. Thanks Saeda for all the moments you remind me this life is precious. - g xo

S E L F. There is something cathartic about drawing yourself as a child. You see a reflection that you may have forgotten. A little version of yourself staring back at you who had a lot of hope and inner knowledge that you may have learned to stomp out at some point. Or maybe it’s always been there and you just needed reminding of who that little one was. What she needed, what she still needs. It’s then that you are able to cherish and remember them. It’s a beautiful thing to age. It’s something not everyone gets the honour of. But it’s okay to look back. These Inner child portraits are something you can place in your home and see daily. Your inner child is seen everyday. Honour yourself and all the places you have been, experiences you got through. Take that old school photo and remember cherish them. - g # #

FYI I actually digitally draw these by hand. All on one line. As an artist…I sometimes feel so sad about our industry loosing something with all the tech growing in the graphic design world. It’s a bug loss, we are loosing something. I love doing these portraits. They take me a ton of time and I put a lot into them. Maybe I could use the generate button…. But it doesn’t feel the same. It’s not intentional or authentic. Holidays are around the corner!
