Bold Powder Brows to cover up 4-year old microblading. First, we colour corrected the old (grey) strokes with an orange pigment then covered up with darker brown pigments. For cover ups, we look at the shape and colour to determine if it’s something we can work with. In her case, the colour is faded enough and the shape was actually not too bad.

If you have any previous work/tattoo/microblading, it is considered a correction/cover up. Previous work must at least be 50% faded. Not everyone is a candidate for cover-up. For super saturated brows, we may recommend removal first.

If it is your first session or first time with your artist, it is natural to have have jitters and be nervous…

Here are some tips to help you prepare and be comfortable for your appointment

-Dont rush the appointment . The appointment scheduled for 4 hours. Sometimes it could be longer, sometimes it can be shorter. Please plan ahead and allow enough time. Your face is not something I want to rush on.

-Do NOT bring guests/kids. Although guests can wait in the car, they can become impatient and try to rush the appointment. It’s best to leave them at home 🙂

-Eat healthy meal and drink water (no caffeine, even decaf, alcohol, no smoking) before your appointment

-Please bring a sweater or your own clean blanket if you tend to get cold as blankets are not provided due to cross-contamination policies

-Put your phone away and on silent. To avoid interruption and cross contamination. Cellphones are prohibited during procedure.

-Limit conversation during procedure, to limit facial movements

-Keep your eyes closed during appointment , your eye movement will keep your brain alert and case your muscles to move

✨What To Expect @ First Brow Appointment✨

✨CONSULTATION/ MAPPING
After we go through the consultation session and discuss your expectations, take “Before” photos, we will proceed with the brow mapping so you get an idea of shape and form. We will map your brows sitting up and later on we will lay you down. Keep in mind that, NOBODY has a perfectly symmetrical face/brows (you know the saying, “Brows are sisters, not twins.” Reference photos are great, however, if your face shape is not similar to the one in the photo, it will be challenging to create the exact pair of brows.

We are trained to create a customized set of brows for YOUR face shape, YOUR bone structure, where YOUR natural brow hairs sit, etc, but at the same time we take your preference into serious consideration. When we have collectively agreed on a brow design, it is ultimately YOUR decision that determines the final shape and once you have given me the approval, we can then proceed with the next step.

✨OUTLINE/NUMBING/TATTOO
Once we have cleaned up the brow area, I will typically proceed to tattoo ONLY the outline of the brows and once the outline is secured, I will apply topical anesthetic to ensure that you are comfortable for the rest of the procedure. (If you are more sensitive to pain, and cannot handle the tattooing of the outline without numbing, I will apply the numbing cream beforehand. Once numb, the pigment is deposited using a PMU/tattoo machine and a single-needle. After the outline, we will sit you up to make sure the brows are still sitting evenly. Each brow will typically need 3-4 “passes.”

✨ AFTERCARE
After the tattooing procedure, we will go over aftercare instructions and you will receive an aftercare kit to take home. When you get home, you will be asked to blot the brow area with a clean tissue, every hour until bedtime. Please follow the aftercare instructions to ensure optimal results.

During healing, it's normal to experience some pigment loss and this is the reason we require the 2-month touch up. The healing phase is a hell of process and I cannot stress enough to just TRUST 👏🏼 THE 👏🏼 PROCESS 👏🏼 and lastly, DON’T PICK YOUR SCABS 🙏!

T O U C H - U P S

Touch-ups are recommended every 1-2 years (after you’ve completed your 1st and 2nd session) maintain shape, colour, and detail. How often depends on a number of factors including:

✨Skin type (oily skin fade faster)
🎨 Pigment colour used (lighter colors fade faster)
🌞 Sun exposure/tanning bed (over time can cause fading and discolouration of the pigment). Always apply sunscreen 🧴 !
💊 Certain medications/conditions
👶🏻 Use of daily anti-aging products e.g.- (Retinol & Alpha Hydroxy). These products increase your cell turnover rate and will shorten the life of your cosmetic tattoo.

Several sessions of colour correction may be required before we go in with the target colour in order to achieve optimal results. For extreme cases, removal is highly recommended.

If your previous brow tattoo/microblading has faded to red/blue/green/pink/purple, it will need to be colour corrected and neutralized to a more desirable colour before a new colour can be deposited. Old brows must be at least 70-80% faded. This may require additional touch ups to achieve desired results.
