TB Weekends
BIG community. Small spaces.
3 performances, every 3 months. Offering #yyc a weekend of multidisciplinary performance, art and talent. Small spaces.
Triple Bill Weekends (TB Weekends) presents three pieces nightly over the course of a weekend where all profits are shared among artists. It was created by Alicia Ward and Jonathan Molinski, two emerging artists looking to connect with other creators in an informal environment while having the opportunity to present work.

A glimpse from last night: a cozy winter evening of intimate performance, art makers practicing their craft, laughs being had, cups of coffee, and passed note cards.

It's nearly time for LOFT 112 to be transformed with chairs, pillows, meditation stools and lights.Be guided through a sensory evening of dance and music by Kara & Distance Bullock.
Here's a little taste of what to expect from Distance:
“Pieces of Bullock's voice came together to form a haunting chorus, which heightened the drama on songs such as "Arizona," whose imagery and eerie sound reminded one of Bat for Lashes. His honesty and the…amount of instruments he had onstage allowed Bullock to create tracks that were equally stark and full of wonder, as he built a wall of sound via loops” – Exclaim, Alana Alger January 2016

We are thrilled to be welcoming a new artist to the TB Weekends line up: Distance Bullock!
As a musician, Distance has toured internationally with Sarah MacDougall, Reuben and the Dark and his own solo work. His music is powerful and rough around the edges, epic soundscapes of looped cello, piano, drums, guitar and his mellifluous vocal range. A self taught, multi instrumentalist, he is a compelling performer and prolific song writer.

You may have seen Kara perform at the very first TB Weekends, and if you did you will be just as excited as we are that she's back with her newest collaboration with Distance Bullock. Their working titles are: Shut Up and Sit Down or Senseless.
“[Kara] has a knack for beauty and poetry. She creates romance, nostalgia and melancholy with the unleashing of a smile, the drop of a wrist, the droop of her head and renditions of cheesy karaoke songs” – Vancouver Arts Review September 2016, aux.la.more Vancouver Fringe Festival

Here's some things to expect from TB Weekends: November Edition:

- Kara & Distance are going to ask audience members to only communicate through writing and leave their phones in a basket at the door
