Did I go too far outside her natural lip border? ⚠️

It looks like it 😳.. But what you’re actually seeing is temporary blanching caused by the epinephrine in the numbing. It constricts the blood flow, causing the skin to appear white, creating the illusion that the outline is much further outside of the natural lip border.
This is completely normal and actually helps me as the artist to see the outline as there’s more contrast between the skin and the ultra-soft outline. 👀
Creating a soft, natural outline is one of the most important steps of lip blush. We don’t want thick harsh lines or the result will never look good.
Lip blush is meant to enhance the lips you already have, not to create an entire new shape. When the pigment is implanted onto the facial skin, it can heal differently than on the lip skin, and can often appear very unnatural.

Shaving those little brow hairs around the shape to create a clean canvas for her touchup (so satisfying!) 😌
I prefer shaving the stray hairs around the brow shape rather than tweezing, waxing or threading. It’s quicker, less tedious, and avoids putting additional stress to the skin before we tattoo.
Another benefit? The hair will grow back naturally, so if the client chooses to slightly adjust the shape in the future, we still have that flexibility without damaging the follicle. (90’s brows - iykyk 🥲)
