We’re The Barber Parlor, a local barbershop in the community, and we’re excited to invite you to something we’ve been working hard to put together — The Barber Parlor Presents: Fresh Start ✂️❤️

Fresh Start is more than just a haircut event. It’s our way of bringing the community together and helping local kids head into the new school year feeling confident, prepared and supported.

On Sunday, August 23rd from 10 AM–4 PM, we’re opening our doors for a full community day featuring:

✂️ FREE haircuts & braiding
🎒 A backpack filled with school supplies for the FIRST 60 kids
🍔 BBQ
🎶 Music
🤝 Local businesses & community sponsors
❤️ A day focused on giving back to our community

Haircuts and braiding are FIRST COME, FIRST SERVE, so we encourage families to come early and enjoy the event while they wait.

And if there’s a wait — don’t worry! We’ll have food, music and activities happening throughout the day so families can hang out and enjoy themselves while the kids wait for their turn in the chair.

The first 60 kids will also receive a backpack filled with school supplies to help them start the school year ready to go. 🎒📚✏️

This event has been made possible through the generosity of local sponsors, businesses and community members who believe in giving back and supporting the families around us.

We’re proud to call Fergus home, and this is our small way of saying thank you. ❤️

Fresh Start is a community-driven event dedicated to helping students begin the school year feeling confident, prepared, and supported.

Hosted by The Barber Parlor, this annual community festival brings together local businesses, volunteers, barbers, and community partners to create a positive and welcoming experience for students and families. By offering free haircuts, snacks, music, and a supportive atmosphere, Fresh Start helps remove some of the stress that can come with preparing for a new school year and replaces it with encouragement, connection, and community pride.

This event is about more than just looking good on the first day of school—it’s about helping children feel seen, valued, and ready to step into the classroom with confidence. It’s also an opportunity for the community to come together, support local families, and show students that they are surrounded by people who care about their success.

Together, we’re building confidence, strengthening our community, and giving every child the opportunity for a fresh start.

Every Thursday before 3PM, we’re opening a limited number of spots starting at $25 haircuts — same quality, same precision, just earlier in the day.
