Who we are:

We're passionate about the art & craft of beautiful hair. Our boutique hair salon is busier than ever so we're looking to grow our talented team with the addition of a full-time Receptionist working in the salon.

We're a small group of collaborative, energetic professionals who value honesty, curiosity, integrity and doing the best we can at whatever we do. We're all about good conversations, lots of laughs and of course professional, friendly service.

Who you are:

Are you customer obsessed? Are you a team player? Are you organized, efficient, reliable and responsible? Can you warmly greet and health-screen each guest as they arrive? Can you assist stylists with checking out guests and rebooking their next appointments? Are you able to answer the phone with a professional and pleasant disposition? Are you comfortable corresponding professionally with clients via email? Are you able to maintain a clean, tidy work environment for yourself and our team of stylists? Are you able to assist management with inventory management and restocking? If you can answer yes to all of the above we'd love to talk to you about joining our team.

Before we can chat though, we'd also like to know if you have:

- Excellent customer service skills
- A friendly demeanour, positive attitude and a healthy obsession of providing the ultimate customer experience
- Integrity and the ability to take initiative with minimal supervision.
- A strong belief in bettering our community and our environment
- An appreciation for healthy hair and the positive effects of helping people feel great about themselves

Big news to start 2020! We’re beyond excited to officially welcome today to our team as Senior Stylist and Colourist. Today is her first day at The Corner Room and her schedule is already filling up fast so be sure to book your appointment with Michelle today at thecornerroom.ca

Michelle’s impressive 20 year career and education began at Lorenzo’s School of Hair Design in 1999, followed by her apprenticeship at Wizards under Kenny Smith. Since her start she has made it a point to take a new training course every year, either locally or internationally. She’s trained with L’Oréal, Schwarzkopf and Redken. Not one to sit still, Michelle has travelled extensively throughout Asia and Europe, having lived and worked in both South Korea and Norway. Michelle joined The Corner Room after 11 years at Strut Salon, another one of Hamilton’s top salons, and is an expert in cutting short hair and doing balayage.

6 years experience in a professional salon environment
A portfolio demonstrating some of your work
Experience as a dualist: you cut and colour exceptionally well
Experience with Schwarzkopf is a plus
Experience mentoring assistants and new talent
Excellent customer service skills
A friendly demeanour and positive attitude
Ambition to become the absolute best version of yourself
