I’m not one to think about whether I’m getting enough protein, but since someone asked me the other day, I thought I would just do a tally on how much protein is in this breakfast.
When I add it up, it comes to 25 grams. A woman my age and weight is “supposed” to get 55-60 grams of protein per day.
Not difficult to attain on a plant-based diet. Don’t let someone fool you into believing animal products are necessary.
Think:
Tempeh (one of the highest at 31 grams/cup)
Tofu (18 grams/cup)
Lentils (18 grams/cup)
Beans (15 grams/cup)
Chickpeas (15grams/cup)
Nuts and seeds
Grains
Quinoa (8 grams/cup)
