Hard to believe it’s been two years today since we closed the doors for the last time.
Bittersweet , missing you all.

Well the days have flown by,
our move is going well ,our wonderful
Shiatsu massage washing units are heading off to their new home in Squamish, ♥️♥️ we have had many years of wonderful massages in these amazing chairs ,well our clients have anyways 🙏🏼

Retirement is nearing or wherever it is we are heading to, we are both very excited💜

She would come to visit us daily and sit patiently outside of the kitchen waiting for her cookie, some clients were always welcome🙏🏼
Sure miss her, her parents moved right after she passed, missing them all.


Finally the papers are signed and the deal is complete.

As many of you know after 10 years of just the two of us working in our salon by ourselves it was time for some changes,
after building such a beautiful space to work in ,and deciding to do it on all on our own , Life unfortunately took over and we got old😋
Finally, we had to either bring people in to help us earn a living
and keep our salon going,or sell to somebody
who could make it a full service salon,
we kept it going for 10 years and enjoyed it immensely ,
meeting so many people and having so many supporters
making going to work a pleasure for both myself and Rodger.
Well ,we tried to sell it as a salon and we had hoped after hearing ,
“This is the most beautiful salon I have ever seen🥰”
so many times from so many clients that it would continue
to be so wonderful but
unfortunately Covid hit and selling a salon was impossible.
Listing just two weeks before we were shut down due to Covid for three months was the start of our downfall,
The hairdressing and beauty industry has changed immensely,
it will be a while before things are normal again and unfortunately for us we have had to make the decision to sell just our space and close Shine, we will be selling our salon equipment and hopefully somebody will see the value in the luxury we have built and continue to serve all of the people we have been blessed to have in our lives for so long.
We will continue to live in the community and see so many of you in the future, this page will continue for updates on any future happenings with us, we thank everybody for all the support thank you for

To our wonderful friends and clients 🌞
As many of you know for the past three years Rodger and myself have been talking about selling our salon,
first finding the right realtor ,and then the right buyer
who hopefully would carry on our dream.🌞
In 2011 we built our beautiful salon in The Lakes, after a brief year and a half in OK Centre our space (The Centre Store) had sold and we had to move,bringing us up to the lakes, it was a hard decision purchase and build such a large space for the two of us but we could not,not!
With many hurdles along the way we struggled with keeping
going for so long not only with the salon but ourselves.
We have enjoyed the years and we have enjoyed the people so much💜unfortunately our bodies are not enjoying it as much as we are 🙏🏼
37 years for me and 30 years for Rodger a long road👥
We had hoped our space would sell as a salon and Shine
would carry-on with new owners some Youngblood and lots of spirit.
Then COVID-19 , likely the most terrible time in history
to sell a salon that ever could be,
we were closed for three months
less than two weeks after our listing began,
and the world basically turned off ,
nobody left their house, or thought of buying a business,
showing a hair salon, we couldn’t even let anybody into our space to see it, nobody was showing anything .
Everything in life suddenly changed , coming back after the lockdown has been exhausting for the both of us we have had to make this decision to let the salon go and just sell the commercial space, it has been a very hard decision after so much hard
work and such a beautiful space,
who could’ve planned a pandemic🙏🏼

As of October 30 2020 , Shine will be closed as we prepare to dismantle our beautiful salon and have one week to say goodbye as we move everything out and clean up for the new owners.
Expect exciting new wonderful things arriving in our space,
I know we have absolutely loved it!
We wish the new owners years of success!🍻
