I am a Registered Psychologist and have worked in the counselling field since 2009. I work with individual adults and specialize in treating trauma, depression and anxiety (including prenatal/postnatal experiences). All of my experience has led me to understand that no matter what issues people are facing, in order to truly heal, individuals need a respectful, understanding, and non-judgmental listener that is grounded and balanced in their own right. This is what I offer clients in addition to my education and training.

There is not a one-size-fits all approach to therapy, that’s why I am first and foremost person-centered therapist and believe a strong rapport is the foundation for helping people make change. Additionally, I am trained in several other modalities including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).

With kindness, empathy and compassion, I am truly honored to journey with clients through some of their most difficult moments. The work people do in my office takes tremendous courage and determination, but is also so rewarding and life changing for them.

My name is Eric Burgess and I operate Restless Minds Counselling, located in Lethbridge, AB. I have resided in Lethbridge for 20 years and have come to appreciate the welcoming spirit and growing diversity of our community. I hold an M.Ed. in Counselling Psychology from the University of Lethbridge and am a Registered Provisional Psychologist (3225p). I have 10+ years of experience in providing counselling supports to children, youth and adults with a variety of presenting issues including Depression, Anxiety, at-risk behaviours, ADHD, Autism, school issues, trauma, LBGTQ2S++, multicultural issues and learning disabilities. The decision to seek out counselling support requires courage, inner strength, vulnerability and a desire for change. I believe that one's personal truth and lived experience should be honoured with inquisitiveness, compassion and empathy, in a non-judgmental setting that inspires trust.
