Golfer’s elbow is a form of tendonitis that causes pain and inflammtion in the tendons that connect the forearm to the elbow. The pain centers on the bony bump on the inside of your elbow and may radiate into the forearm. It usually gets better with rest. The medical term is medial epicondylitis.
With golfer’s elbow, the pain you have can happen suddenly or with time. If you have golfer’s elbow, you might have:
Stiffness in your elbow
Tenderness and pain, usually on the inner side of your elbow or the inner side of your forearm, but you could have pain with certain movements, like making a fist or swinging a golf club
Tingling or numbness in your fingers (usually the ring and little fingers)
Weakness in your hands and wrists
Golfer’s elbow is usually caused by overusing the muscles in your forearm, which lets you grip, rotate your arm, and flex your wrist. Repetitive flexing, gripping, or swinging can cause pulls or tiny tears in the tendons.
Despite the name, this condition doesn’t just affect golfers. Any hand, wrist, or forearm motions that you do often can lead to golfer’s elbow.
If you are experiencing any of these signs or symptoms book in for your massage now and get your elbow feeling better before the golf season begins!

Before work, a workout and bed....Why stretching is IMPORTANT EVERYDAY!
Stretching keeps the muscles flexible, strong, and healthy, and we need that flexibility to maintain a range of motion in the joints. Without it, the muscles shorten and become tight. Then, when you call on the muscles for activity, they are weak and unable to extend all the way. That puts you at risk for joint pain, strains, and muscle damage.
For example, sitting in a chair all day results in tight hamstrings in the back of the thigh. That can make it harder to extend your leg or straighten your knee all the way, which inhibits walking. Likewise, when tight muscles are suddenly called on for a strenuous activity that stretches them, such as playing tennis, they may become damaged from suddenly being stretched. Injured muscles may not be strong enough to support the joints, which can lead to joint injury.
Regular stretching keeps muscles long, lean, and flexible, and this means that exertion won't put too much force on the muscle itself. Healthy muscles also help a person with balance problems to avoid falls.

Why bad posture happens!
If you have a tendency to slouch and feel comfortable when you are slumped over, it's because your body believes a hunched spine is the most efficient position available to you based on how you move (or don't move)
Also your resting posture will be determined / influenced by
- poor work habits mixed in with a poorly designed work environment
- postural adoptions from past injuries - adaptions to repetitive strain or emotional stress
These things may lead to reduction in your tissues capacity to lengthen and in turn make your body contort to less than optimal positions
If you have tension in you upper back/neck and are interested in a solution you must take time for yourself and get it back to normal.
I have the tools to help you! If interested book your massage appointment now!
