Both sets were created using Russian manicure + gel application —
one at 3 weeks, one at 4 weeks.

Look closely at how the nails grow out:

• product placement at the cuticle area
• how the gel blends as the nail grows
• balance of the structure over time

Because gel application isn’t just about how it looks on day one —
it’s about how it grows.

Refined application creates:

• smoother grow-out
• a cleaner cuticle area
• better long-term balance

Pocket Lifting (Middle of the Nail)

Pocket lifting in the middle of the nails is not always a preparation issue.

This type of lifting appears in the middle of the nail plate, forming an air pocket between the natural nail and the product.

When the nail plate experience strong pressure or impact during wear, the bond between the natural nail and the product can separate, creating a small pocket.

Once the seal is broken, moisture and debris can enter and the lifting may spread.

Common cause may include:
- strong impact during wear ( hitting the nail)
- weak or thin structure
- trapped air during application
- stress point not properly built

Pocket lifting usually appears after some wear, not immediately after the service.

Understanding where lifting starts helps identify the possible cause.

Lifting doesn’t happen for just one reason.

Many factors affect how long a set lasts:

• the condition of the natural nail
• proper nail preparation and cuticle removal
• choosing the right base and product system
• clean application without touching the skin
• proper curing with the right lamp
• and also how clients use their hands in daily life

Even with good technique, nails may wear differently on each person.

That’s why understanding the natural nail and adjusting the system for each client is so important.

When preparation is done correctly:

I’m looking for models to join my nail classes on Monday, October 7th, and Sunday, October 20th, from 10AM to 3PM. The model participating on Monday, October 7th, will need to return on Monday, October 21st, for a rebalance (refill).

If you’d like to get a flawless gel manicure done by one of my students, this is a great opportunity to enjoy beautiful nails while helping them perfect their skills.

It is essential that models maintain bare nails and untouched cuticles for two weeks prior to their participation.
