Exfoliating your skin should be avoided following your laser hair removal treatment. It is recommended to avoid exfoliating lasered areas for a minimum of one week atleast, to limit skin irritation.

You will notice shedding of the hair, which is a good sign that the laser hair removal is effectively working. Throughout that process you can exfoliate gently to help speed up the shedding phase.

1. The anagen phase is the first phase in the hair growth cycle. It’s the most active and visible phase of hair growth. This phase differs in individuals depending on the type of hair.

2. The catagen phase also known as the transition phase is when the hair follicles begin to shrink and slows down the growth cycle. The hair will separate from the bottom of the hair follicle and still be visible within its final days of growth.

3. The telogen phase also known as the resting phase the hair doesn’t grow, but they don’t usually fall out either. The new hairs will start to form in follicles that have been released from the catagen phase. The exogen phase continues from the telogen phase and is it’s final stage of shedding.

Generally speaking, laser hair removal is a quick treatment. Treating small areas such as upper lip, sideburns can take 5 minutes or less. Larger areas such as back or full legs can take up to 30 minutes or less.

Keep in mind to always apply sunscreen when outdoors during your Laser Hair Removal Process. I recommend to try to cover the lasered areas as best as possible, because your skin can become more sensitive within your process.

Sun exposure can burn and darken your skin without an spf protection, the light energy given off with laser hair removal then causes sensitivity which can create issues of hyperpigmentation or even burns.

Protect your skin, apply an spf sunscreen and cover up when possible to reduce any side effects!!!
