Day 1 ✨ of 2026 started with a very rare sighting of the tiniest 😍 I’ve ever seen.

Often I have asked for clarity, a sign or encouragement on my life’s path… New Year’s alway brings a magnifying glass to the direction you desire life to move.

We were driving home and the roads weren’t plowed, the city was very still and I was thinking about my year ahead. A little practical, a little dreamy and a twist of welcoming some relinquishment ✨ of control in just how that all materializes in the weeks and months to come.

Life isn’t happening to you. Its is happening for you ❤️ (I must continue to remind myself) and at times when life takes an unexpected turn, it can be easy to embody the disappointment.

If the snowy roads didn’t pace our drive home we may have missed this moment of awe 🦉. At the time I didn’t know just how rare this sighting was, but in that moment I promptly acknowledged ‘the sign’.

The blessing 🙏🏻 of seeing an owl on New Year’s Day can be interpreted as a powerful symbol of wisdom , and profound change or signalling the end of one phase and the beginning of another… urging you to look deeper and trust your inner guidance for the year ahead. It can represent spiritual messages, new beginnings, protection, and a call to use heightened perception to navigate the upcoming year’s challenges and opportunities.

Northern Saw Whet Owls are tiny owls that migrate through our region every spring and fall. Although they are relatively common, 🤩 few people have ever seen one. This is because they are very nocturnal, small in size, and their high-pitched call (beep) is not what most folks would consider to be owl-like.
