EARLY BIRD DISCOUNT ENDS THIS FRIDAY May 22nd!
OTTAWA RMTs
1-DAY HANDS ON COURSE - June 24th
If you love the nurturing feel of Indie Head Massage but want a more clinically grounded, lymphatic-focused approach, this course offers a beautiful, scope-aligned alternative for RMTs.
The EluVett Face & Scalp Lymphatic Aromatherapy Course works with the scalp, face (including buccal), head, and neck, using manual lymphatic drainage as the foundation, while gently integrating fascial release, acupoints, cupping, and aromatherapy. The work is slow, precise, and deeply calming - supporting fluid movement, tissue health, and nervous system regulation for both practitioner and patient.
THIS COURSE IS IDEAL IF YOU WANT TO:
• Offer a restorative head + face treatment rooted in MLD
• Work confidently with scalp and facial structures
• Integrate subtle fascial techniques, acupressure, cupping, and aromatherapy
• Bring a quieter, more listening-based quality service into your practice
📅 JUNE 24th, Barrhaven 9-3:30

An important part of healing...
Why Deep Sleep Might Be the Missing Piece in Your Healing There are things we do in treatment. And then there are things your body does when you’re not with me. This is one of those. You can have the best manual lymphatic drainage session. The most...

"I'd like to book a lymphatic treatment for weight loss and water retention."
I get one of these requests pretty regularly. There is a lot on social media about body sculpting and fat loss that is, shall I say, a little misleading.
As I love to teach, and give people the information to make informed decisions on their care, I often reply with email replies to explain what it is I do as a manual lymphatic therapist. I'd like to share one of those emails here, for those that are interested in understanding this a little more:
"Good morning,
Thanks so much for reaching out to inquire about lymphatic work for weight loss and water retention - that’s a really common question, and I’m glad you asked.
Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD) can absolutely help with what many people describe as “water retention.” It works by gently encouraging the movement of lymphatic fluid, which can reduce visible swelling, puffiness, and that heavy or congested feeling in the body. When fluid is moving well, people often notice decreased inflammation and a greater sense of lightness and comfort.
That said, MLD is not a weight loss treatment. It doesn’t reduce body fat, and there isn’t evidence to support it as a method for weight loss. The changes you might see on the scale (if any) are related to fluid shifts ~ not actual tissue or fat loss.
Where MLD does play an important role is in overall health. The lymphatic system is a key part of how your body:
• Clears waste and cellular byproducts
• Supports immune function
• Maintains fluid balance
So while it’s not a weight loss tool, it can be a really supportive therapy for reducing swelling, improving recovery, and helping your system function more efficiently.
If your goal is more along the lines of aesthetic contouring or “body sculpting,” those services are typically offered by aestheticians (often referred to as Brazilian lymphatic drainage) in a spa setting, and they use a different approach and intention than clinical MLD.
If it helps, I’ve outlined the differences here so you can decide what best fits your goals:

If you’d like, I’m happy to chat a bit more about what you’re hoping to achieve and guide you toward the best option for you.
Warmly,
Anne

MASSAGE THERAPY TEACHERS & PROGRAM COORDINATORS
Are your students learning what the lymphatic system is, but still unsure how it truly fits into everyday clinical care?
I’m currently offering guest lectures, created to support massage therapy students in building broader clinical thinking and deeper understanding of the lymphatic system.
This is a lecture-based session. The intention is to expand perspective - not to teach manual techniques.
Together, we explore how lymphatics connect across multiple areas of practice, including:
• Post-surgical recovery
• Inflammatory conditions
• Scar tissue & fascial health
• Systemic fluid dynamics & mobility
Rather than memorizing protocols, students learn how the lymphatic system functions within the whole body - and how it shows up in day-to-day treatment scenarios.
At the heart of this approach is a simple but powerful shift:
We are not just ‘pushing fluid’ to move - we are creating the environment that allows it to flow naturally.
Students gain:
• Functional understanding of lymphatic anatomy & physiology
• Insight into fascial and the body’s internal environment
• Clarity on where MLD fits within modern, integrative care
• Confidence in clinical reasoning, assessment and treatment planning
• Exploring interprofessional collaboration avenues to support referrals and working as part of a patient’s circle of care
These sessions are designed to support your curriculum, complement what you’re already teaching, and offer students a more connected, meaningful view of their future work as RMTs.
If this feels like a good fit for your program - or your senior students or alumni - I’d love to connect and explore how I can support you.
Message me or find out more @:

Let’s help students think beyond technique - and into meaningful, effective practice.

Why lymphatic care is about more than just fluid... (recent blog post)
Understanding MLD Through a Biopsychosocial Lens If you’ve ever received, or are considering Manual Lymphatic Drainage (MLD), you may be wondering: What actually makes this treatment effective? The answer isn’t just about the lymphatic system...
04/10/2026
Not every patient responds the way we expect.
And sometimes… that uncertainty can affect confidence.
Patient example:
A patient with chronic inflammation or post-surgical discomfort may improve temporarily with massage, but without addressing the lymphatic component, results may plateau.
Understanding the “why” behind these cases changes everything.
This is where The EluVett Method begins.
A clinically grounded bridge between massage school fundamentals and advanced lymphatic education.
If you want to feel more confident working with complex or persistent conditions, the Lymphatic Foundations course will give you a new clinical lens.
Are you ready to step into this work?
