From outside, being there for my children doesn’t look like work.
But being present, emotionally and mentally, IS the work.
It is the soil in which they take root.
It is the ground from which they receive nourishment and stability.
A moment when I opened my heart to the joyful focus of children’s play. Children know how to stay present and live in the moment. I often need to be reminded. 🌱🫧🛝💛
One morning, rushing, I recognized myself in my resisting and complaining children.

Some nights I lie awake thinking about all the ways I feel like I fall short, all the little mistakes and imperfect moments that haunt me, and I wonder if my child even notices them—or if they only see the parts of me I wish I could see myself: the warmth, the patience, the laughter, and the steady presence that holds them safe no matter what. If I could glimpse their eyes, full of trust and unconditional love, I think I’d finally understand that I’m doing more right than I give myself credit for, that the tiny hands that reach for me see a mother who is enough, more than enough, in ways I can barely comprehend. ❤️
