Simply Stunning Hair + Make-up

2020 - a year most of us want to forget, but a year that changed the world in a way we can’t.

I don’t know how to put into words what this year has done to me, for me, against me, but also how it worked with me. Is there even a way to describe 2020?

Things we never thought we’d have to endure during our lifetime, things that have broken us down, forced us to see the world differently and hopefully some things that have brought us closer to loved ones, made time slow down and put life into perspective.

2019 was a record breaker with around 80 weddings. 2020 was shaping up to be even busier. I didn’t even count how many weddings we ended up with this year because it would make me relive things I’m not ready for.

I am SO grateful for the weddings we DID get to work on. Smaller, intimate gatherings of just family and closest friends touched my soul ♥️ to all our 2020 brides - you truly don’t know how much it meant, in ALL the years, that you chose us right now. So thank you!

Once the season wrapped up, I needed more than a break. I needed To completely detach myself from work. I can’t describe it but the mental exhaustion from dealing with all that this year brought on got to me, and I couldn’t deal. I didn’t want to think about hair, makeup or weddings. It truly broke me. What I’ve been working towards for 10 years was changed, in the blink of an eye. I realize maybe this isn’t forever, but it was enough to make me step back and have my jaw hit the floor as the postponement and cancellation emails started flooding in. I couldn’t keep track. I couldn’t catch my breath.

2021 bookings are looking positive for now. However, the realist in me is moving forward with cautious optimism. After the new year I will be starting fresh. Slowly bringing myself back to work, more scheduling, posting more frequently.
I will get there. And I appreciate your patience through it all.

It was time I touched base and gave an update. Thank you for understanding that this year has been challenging in every aspect, and we are doing our absolute best.

It’s me! I don’t think I’ve put on a full face of makeup in almost 6 months?? And this weekend - I got to do it twice! It actually felt so good! Obviously had to capture the moment.
We managed to go to some patios with a few friends for some much needed kid free time! And on Sunday we had family photos done by the amazing and I’m already dying to see them!
We are slowly finding our groove with 2 kids and life at home is returning to a more “normal” state these days. And with more and more weddings around the corner, I’m feeling more like myself every day!
