Hello! Here's an update! The Body Shop at home launch in Canada has been delayed. Unfortunately it's now going to be sometime in 2022! More information to follow, have a great weekend everyone!

Really liking the Body Shop Seaweed combination skin gel cream. I find the winter months make my face itchy. I put some of the cream on and it all goes away. Looking forward to the launch in the spring.

The Body Shop will buy 600 tons of waste plastic next year, and wants competitors to follow Waste-pickers in some developing countries make a living by trading trash in an informal industry that can be dangerous and dirty, but The Body Shop is now working to source plastic from them — and wants other companies to join the initiative.

In Mexico, indigenous female farmers often face discrimination. Through the partnership between The Body Shop and Mexialoe, we help support these women, smallholder farmers, living on the edges of the rainforest, while providing them with a sustainable income.

The Community Fair Trade aloe vera The Body Shop uses in our products is made from concentrated aloe vera powder. Did you know aloe vera leaves are mostly made up of water? These leaves dry up really fast, so they have to be processed as soon as they’ve been harvested.

Farmers send the freshly picked aloe leaves to the processing plant within 6 hours of cutting. There, the liquid inside the leaves is extracted by hand and concentrated into a preservative - free, powder.

Why is The Body Shop using aloe powder, you ask? Producing concentrated aloe powder helps preserve the essential properties that make it a key skincare ingredient. It also prevents contamination and means we aren’t shipping 200 tons of water across the globe. And, since we’re using aloe vera powder (instead of a water based ingredient), we don’t need to add any preservatives – no need to thank us!
