What is a Gel-X manicure? Gel-X is a type of nail extension done with full-coverage nail tip. These are made with a soft gel material and are applied over the natural nail. Unlike traditional acrylics, Gel-X does not use monomer liquid or acrylic powder, so no harsh smells or chemicals. Also unlike hard gel nail extensions (acrylics, etc), which are thicker and need to be sculpted into shape, Gel-X nails can be cut and filed into any shape. They are thinner, more flexible, and more natural looking than acrylics or hard gel extensions.
