With my birthday coming up this weekend, I’ve been thinking about aging.

Not because I’m afraid of it.

Quite the opposite.

Because the older I get, the more I realize how much of life has absolutely nothing to do with my face.

The women I admire most aren’t the ones who look the youngest.

They’re the women who are engaged in their lives.

They’re curious. Passionate. Interesting. They have strong opinions. They laugh loudly. They care deeply about the people around them. They are still learning, growing, and becoming.

And yet, so much of the conversation around women and aging remains focused on appearance.

As though our value somehow peaks in our youth.

I don’t believe that’s true.

I see women become more themselves with age.

More comfortable in their own skin. More certain of who they are. Less willing to spend their energy trying to meet someone else’s expectations.

That feels worth celebrating.
Because a life well lived will leave its mark.

And that shouldn’t be something we feel the need to hide. ❤️
