Ever wonder if you should arrive at your hair appointment with squeaky clean hair? Is it worthwhile to clean your dirty hair if you're getting it washed anyway?

When your hair is oily or dirty it can make your natural hair colour actually appear darker. This makes it harder for your stylist to formulate the right plan for your desired end result.💆🏼‍♀️

Too much product build-up from dry shampoos, root camouflage sprays, and more can also affect your colour application, and ultimately, your finished hair.

📖 A little history lesson...Many years ago, it was suggested to have dirty hair at your appointments since natural oil build-up could prevent irritation. However, the hair industry has come a long way since then. Colour products have been reformulated to remove the harsh irritants, such as ammonia, that typically cause dryness and itchiness to the scalp.
