✨I can remember when I started researching the beauty industry and trying to decide if I wanted to take this direction, I was often met with:

“That isn’t a real job.”
“You aren’t going to make any money doing that”
“This isn’t the city for that”
“You should still go to university and get a degree and do makeup part time”
Or my favourite,
“You should apply to the government”

I can remember feeling so discouraged and unsure of what to do. I found myself unmotivated doing things I didn’t enjoy or love.

Well I decided to say SCREW IT ✌🏻and fully jump into this industry, and I couldn’t be happier. I work with clients that I love doing projects I enjoy and am passionate about.

If you are at that crossroads, don’t listen to someone who is telling you to go the “safe” route because of their fears. Listen to your intuition, you have it for a reason!

Not a lot of people know this, but I am a very spiritual person. I value my connection to the universe and choose to really focus on my energy each day.✨

I have a simple morning routine that I do each day to ensure I am aligned with the energy that I want to feel,

#1. Meditate 🤌🏼
- I start every day with a meditation, it clears my mind and allows me to align with the feeling I want to attract for the day.

#2. Journal 📔
- I write down my intentions each morning, this gives me direction for the day.

#3. Drink Water 🚰
- I’m usually soo thirsty in the morning, and hydration is key.

#4. No Social Media 📵
- I try not to look at any social media for the first hour I am awake. I fully embrace my morning routine.

#5. Go On A Walk! 🌿
- I love my morning walks, I either listen to nature or I listen to a great podcast or music. But the fresh air is amazing in the mornings!

For me, it all started when I could sneak into my moms makeup and start drawing on my face with her eyeliner.. I would also draw on the mirror where my face was haha, I was always creative.

As I got older, I remember thinking that makeup artistry wasn’t something I would do as a career; or that people wouldn’t take me seriously, or that I wouldn’t ever be successful.

I knew that I wanted to be that one who truly committed to my passion, and that I didn’t just do something (like go to university) because that’s what my parents, teachers or peers deemed “the right way to go”.

The thing is, it’s easier said than done right?

So I tried,
- Going to school .. twice, for hairstyling and makeup artistry. The second time I went,for small business accounting.
- I worked in retail, in management. It was in the beauty industry and I thought that was the way to be successful in Ottawa. I ended up loosing my passion for makeup because I was in an environment that really made it feel like work.
- I worked in an office job, which wasn’t for me.

Now, fully committed to the industry. I realized that committing to my initial goal was the start of a huge mindset change. I began to open myself up to all the amazing opportunities.

As soon as I started,
- Believing that I could make, makeup my full time career
- Taking time to really learn and grow my business
- Make connections with people I wanted to work with

I started seeing massive changes!

That’s when things clicked for me, I knew that it all had to do with mindset and my inner belief systems. This is what truly sparked the changes in my businesses.

I realized that I want to inspire my clients, business partners and fellow artists - and that this was my mission.
I couldn’t be more grateful for the journey!

We met when we launched Illuma Management, she was intrigued by our values and goals. We instantly clicked - I personally think this also has to do with our birth chart alignments and our vibes but I digress. 🤷🏻‍♀️

😍We finally got to work together when we were doing a lifestyle and branding shoot. We wanted to create images for her brand that would really showcase her , we also just wanted to finally work together.

Needless to say the day was a blast, and we created some beautiful branding photos.
