I love it when clients feel like friends. I only know this queen via the studio and have only had 3 visits spread over several years- but when we’re together we get the brows on point and have a full kiki!

I’m blessed to have such cool clients. And how about that powder brow re-fresh?! ⭐️

Most people walk into a consult expecting me to “fix” old work with more pigment. 🛠️

They’re surprised when I say:
“Your skin is already doing the absolute most. Let’s clear the canvas first.”

I’m wondering… should I create some content on the topic? Before I get into full education mode, I want to hear from you:

– Did you know cosmetic tattoo removal was even a thing?
– Do you think it’s only for “botched” work?
– What confuses or worries you about it?

Watch this intro, then be honest in the comments.

If there’s a lot of “I had no idea,” I’ll know to make this a full mini-series.

This was one of the more challenging sets of brows I’ve done.

She had a very specific vision for herself: an ultra-narrow brow with delicate hair strokes. It’s a beautiful aesthetic, but it’s also a technically demanding combination. Hair strokes need enough room to taper naturally. When a brow becomes very narrow, there’s less space to create elegant, believable strokes without them looking stiff or crowded.

On top of that, this wasn’t a conventional shape. It was something she could picture clearly in her mind but found difficult to put into words.

Every client comes in with a different vision of what feels like them. Some have a very strong point of view. Others rely more on me to help guide the design. Neither approach is better—they’re just different.

Sometimes the hardest part of cosmetic tattooing isn’t the tattooing. It’s translating a feeling into a shape.

This particular shaping process simply required more patience. We made small adjustments, stepped back, talked through what she was seeing, and gradually found the language to translate what was in her mind into a shape on her face.

At one point she apologized for being “difficult.”

She wasn’t.

My role is to read your bone structure, facial features, skin, and natural brow growth, then marry that with what you want. Every face is different. Every person is different. Every set of brows is custom.

The shaping process isn’t something I do to you. It’s something we do together.

Can we just take a moment for these healed results? 🤌

This client has the kind of skin cosmetic tattoo artists dream about. 😻

Her pores are tiny, her skin is beautifully balanced (not too oily, not too dry), she has very little sun damage, and her skin has great integrity. All of those things make a difference. 👉 swipe to see her natural brow and her fresh work!

She told me she barely flaked during healing, 🙌 which is exactly what we hope for. Less flaking usually means better pigment retention, so healed brows tend to look softer, smoother, and more powdery.

One thing I wish more people knew is that your skin plays a huge role in your final result. Two people can receive the exact same tattoo, from the same artist, with the same pigment, and heal completely differently.

That’s why I spend so much time assessing skin before I ever pick up my machine. It’s also why I set realistic expectations during consultations. I’m not trying to lower expectations—I’m trying to make sure your outcome matches what your skin is actually capable of.

When someone has skin like this, it’s definitely worth celebrating. It isn’t just beautiful work… it’s beautiful healing.

Three years ago, this beauty came to me for powder brows and we chose a soft strawberry 🍓blonde for her.

It suited her perfectly, and more importantly, it felt right to her.

Like many first-time cosmetic tattoo clients, she’d seen examples of brows healing grey, dark, or overly saturated. She wanted something soft, and “safe” that’s exactly what we created.

Over the last three years, she’s watched those brows fade beautifully. Not patchy. Not ashy. Not a colour she felt stuck with. Just a soft, gradual fade that gave us options when it was time for a refresh.

This appointment instead of asking, “Can we keep them light?” she walked in excited to go a little richer.

We chose this beautiful auburn, and I honestly think it makes her eyes absolutely captivating.

One of the greatest compliments I can receive isn’t someone loving their brows on day one. It’s someone coming back years later with complete confidence in how they’ll age.

The best lip tattoo compliment?

“No one can tell they’ve been tattooed!” ✨

This lovely client came in wanting to restore her Cupid’s bow and bring back a soft pop of colour where it had naturally faded at the edges. 🫦

She wanted nothing obvious — just a fresh, natural-looking enhancement that still feels like her.

A subtle lip blush tattoo can look beautifully soft and natural when done thoughtfully.
