A little body sugar FAQ…

What is sugaring?

Body sugaring is a really safe and organic alternative to traditional waxing.
The sugar paste is made of just three simple ingredients: sugar, lemon juice, and water.

What's the difference between sugaring and waxing?

The first difference is the direction in which the paste is applied. By applying against the direction of growth and removing with the direction of growth, sugaring gets the hair out at the root every time.
Secondly, the sugar paste is applied using our fingers (wearing gloves of course) directly to the area being epilated. Then, the paste is 'flicked off' and the hair is taken out in the direction of growth, with little to no breakage. This gives you a nice, clean, long lasting removal.
Also, body sugar is water soluble. Unlike wax, a quick wipe with a steam towel removes all traces of the sugar paste. No sticky residue.
Finally, body sugar does not adhere to living skin cells. Only hair and dead skin cells are removed which means less pain and irritation, as well as the ability to go back for any stubborn hairs without damage to the surrounding skin.

How long does my hair have to be to be sugared?

Your hair needs to be at least as long as a grain of rice to do sugaring. (Approx ¼")
Typically, this is about a month out from the last time that you shaved or waxed.
Ensuring the hair is long enough to be easily grasped, but not so long as to cause pulling will ensure great results with minimal pain.
