Specializing in hyper realistic eyebrows using Microblading and Nano Brow techniques

06/18/2026

Powder brows are never a one-size-fits-all treatment.
Before I choose pigments or begin the procedure, I'm looking at things like skin type, undertones, natural brow colour, and the overall result my client is hoping to achieve.

For this set I used:
✨ 3RL 0.30mm Mast Ocean Heart needle
✨ Hanafy Amsterdam
✨ Hanafy Bangkok

The goal was to create a soft, balanced brow that enhances her features without looking overly done.

One of the things I love about PMU is that every set is customised. The decisions made during the appointment—from pigment choice to technique—can make a big difference in how the brows heal and age over time.

Why I use Thuya for brow laminations.

The products we use during a brow lamination play a
huge role in both the final result and the health of the
brow hairs.

I've chosen to work with the Thuya Professional Line
because it allows me to create beautiful,
natural-looking results while helping maintain the
integrity of the brow.

One of my favourite parts of this system is the
regenerating cream enriched with argan oil, which
helps condition and nourish the hairs after processing.

For me, brow laminations aren't about making every
brow look overly styled or brushed straight up.

They're about creating a more uniform hair pattern,
improving manageability, and enhancing what's already
there.

Healthy brows. Soft results. Thoughtful product
choices.

Thankyou

Your skin type plays a huge role in how your PMU heals and ages.

When I’m assessing a client, I’m not just looking at their existing brows—I’m looking at the skin underneath them.

For example:

✨ Oily skin produces more sebum, which can cause healed results to appear softer over time and may affect the crispness of hair strokes.

✨ Dry skin often retains pigment differently and can sometimes heal with more defined results.

✨ Mature skin tends to be thinner, less elastic and may require a different approach to achieve a natural result.

✨ Skin with larger pores or texture may not heal in the same way as smoother, more compact skin.

✨ Sensitive skin may be more reactive

This is why the same technique won’t necessarily be the best choice for every client.

Permanent makeup should be tailored to the individual, not chosen solely because it’s trending or because it looked great on someone else.

The best results come from understanding how your skin behaves and selecting the technique most suited to it.

Because healed results are what matter.

Sometimes less really is more.

Not every brow lamination needs to be bold, heavily sculpted, or brushed straight up.

For this set, the goal wasn't to completely change the brows—it was to create better uniformity through the hair pattern, add a little more structure, and enhance what was already there.

A soft tint was applied throughout the brow hairs, with a touch of tint on the skin through the tails to add subtle definition where the brows naturally become lighter and more sparse. The result is a fuller, more polished look that still feels natural and effortless.

The best brow treatments aren't always the ones that make people ask, "Did you have your brows done?"

Sometimes they're the ones that simply make you look a little more put together without anyone quite knowing why.

Would you choose a soft, natural finish or a more sculpted brow look?

These photos show exactly why cosmetic tattooing is a process, not a one-session treatment.

The third image is fully healed after the initial appointment — you can see that although the healed result softened significantly, we still retained shape and foundation through the brow.

At the perfecting session, I was able to build on that healed base by adding more saturation, refining the shape, and making small adjustments where the skin needed it.

Every client heals differently depending on skin type, lifestyle, oil production, age, and aftercare, which is why the touch-up appointment is such an important part of achieving a balanced long-term result.

For this client, the healed retention gave us exactly what we needed to work from 🤍

✨ Final results will continue to soften slightly as these heal.

If you’ve been curious about powder brows or have previous work that has faded over time, feel free to reach out with questions or to book a consultation ✨

23 years in film & TV makeup… what a wild ride. 🎬

From 2002–2025, my life was 4am alarms, freezing location shoots, set bags packed to the brim, and surviving mostly on caffeine and adrenaline.

And I bloody loved it.

There’s honestly nothing like being on set. The chaos, the creativity, the people… it becomes part of who you are.

But somewhere along the line, I got completely knackered.

Then life changed.

I had my first baby in 2022 and my second in 2024, and suddenly the lifestyle I used to thrive in just didn’t fit anymore.

So we didn’t just leave film… we basically flipped our whole life upside down and moved our family to a quiet little town on Vancouver Island.

Major shift doesn’t even cover it.

PMU completely changed the game for me. I still get to be creative and work with amazing women, but now I can actually schedule my own life instead of waiting for a production coordinator to tell me where I need to be at stupid o’clock in the morning.

Do I miss film? All the time.

Will I go back sometimes? Probably.

Could I ever fully leave it behind? Not a chance I will always be a makeup artist, and I'll continue to be for any weddings or events I can get my hands on!

But this chapter feels healthier. More balanced. Less surviving purely on cortisol and dry shampoo. 😂

And if anyone else is feeling burnt out or terrified to make a massive life change… don’t be scared of the jump.

It’s uncomfortable and I think it will be while I'm building this business.

But honestly, the hardest part was making the decision to do it in the first place. 🤍

If your artist skips this step 🚩

Most people think brow results come down to “talent.”

It’s actually mapping + precision.

Before I even touch pigment, I:

• Measure your facial symmetry
• Use calipers for balance
• Map multiple reference points
• Pre-draw your shape for approval

Nothing is guessed. Nothing is rushed. We take time here.

This is how we avoid:
✖️ uneven brows
✖️ poor shape
✖️ results that don’t suit your face

Every face is different—your brows should be too.

Before + after of Powder Brows on this lovely client ✔️

She had previous brow work done about 4 years ago that’s no longer visible, and going into this appointment I knew her first experience had involved quite a bit of bleeding and poor retention.

What was interesting this time was how differently her skin responded. She’s much drier now, barely bled during the service, and the pigment implanted evenly.

It really made me think about how much skin can change over time — oil levels, texture, sensitivity, even how the skin accepts pigment.

Knowing her history beforehand helped me adjust my approach going in. I used a smaller needle configuration along with pigment in Amsterdam to work a little more gently and controlled through the skin.

That’s something I’m really starting to appreciate with PMU — it’s not just about the brow itself, it’s about reading the skin in the moment and making decisions based on that.

✨ These will heal softer, and I’m really curious to see how they retain over the next few weeks 🤍

Brow tinting should enhance - not over power

Professional brow tinting is about more than making brows darker — it’s about:

✔️ Safe product selection
✔️ Proper colour matching
✔️ Skin sensitivity awareness
✔️ Controlled application
✔️ Predictable, even results

That’s why I use professional-grade products like Bronsun brow dye in my studio.

A properly performed brow tint should:

✨ Enhance your natural shape
✨ Add definition without looking harsh
✨ Complement your skin tone & hair colour
✨ Fade evenly over time

As a trained PMU artist, I approach brow tinting with the same attention to detail, sanitation, and facial balance as permanent makeup procedures.

Your brows frame your entire face — expertise matters.

Fresh brows can look quite bold straight out of the gate.

Fear not they soften once healed and then we tweak anything at the touch-up.

The key is to build the saturation slowly.
