🌸 Celebrating Josslyn — Mama Bear Made It Happen Runner-Up 🌸
Every month, the Mama Bear Made It Happen initiative supports an Indigenous single mother with a $1,500 shopping experience — honouring the resilience, strength, and heart of women who make it happen every single day.
Because I wanted to give back in my own way, I offered to donate one complimentary Lash Extension Set or Facial each month, which allowed the program to create a runner-up prize for another deserving mom. 💛
This month’s runner-up is Josslyn, and today we celebrated her in the most beautiful, aligned way. Her birthday was earlier this week — a perfect way to wrap up her birthday week. 🎉
I want to give a heartfelt thank you to , the owner of for generously offering the salon space so I could treat our runner-up with a full lash set. And in the most serendipitous twist — she also surprised Josslyn with a gorgeous Eminence skin care basket, originally won in a Miyosiwin draw.
The man who won the draw asked Jennifer to donate it to a single mother…

This course is ideal for First Nation learners looking to start their journey in the beauty industry. We’re open to partnering with communities and organizations who want to bring this training to their area!

Team Miyosiwin was honored to be part of International Self-Care Day at Kahkewistahaw First Nation offering haircuts, facials, massages, mani/pedis, and more in a space filled with healing, laughter, and community love.
But what made it extra special?
Two of our lash graduates were also there — now working professionals, showing up with so much skill, confidence, and care. Seeing them in action, serving their community, and working alongside us... it was a true full-circle moment.
This is why we teach.

What an incredible few days spent with the Kahkewistahaw community!
We want to express our deepest gratitude to Kahkewistahaw Family Wellness for inviting Miyosiwin Salon Spa to host Lash Extension Training in your beautiful community. To witness seven strong, dedicated women earn their Classic Lash Technician certification was both inspiring and humbling.
This wasn't just about lash training — this was about empowerment, entrepreneurship, and planting seeds of self-sufficiency within a Nation that continues to lead with heart and intention.

Day 2 of Classic Lash Training Complete!
I am so proud of all the amazing ladies who showed up with dedication and passion. On Day 2, they worked on not just one but two live models—watching them get into the zone and master their craft filled me with so much pride. These women are naturals, and their confidence is growing with every lash they place.
To complete their training, they’ll be working on three more models before Graduation Day on June 4th. Until then, you can book with them at a special training rate of $50 per appointment. After June 4th, their prices will move to industry standards—so this is an amazing chance to support their growth and get beautiful lashes at the same time!
A huge thank you to the Kahkewistahaw Family Wellness Department for your incredible support. The delicious lunches, snacks, and seamless organization have not gone unnoticed. Your actions truly speak louder than words, and we are so grateful for the kindness and generosity you continue to show.
To the ladies of our training program: your hard work, determination, and natural talent are inspiring. I can’t wait to see you all shine on Graduation Day!

Big thanks as well to the amazing coordinators who ensured everything ran smoothly, from providing a delicious lunch and snacks to helping with printing and setup. Your support helped create such a welcoming and seamless experience for everyone.

Grateful to Kahkewistahaw Family Wellness for hosting such a beautiful Mother’s Day event. I had the pleasure of joining Miyosiwin Salon Spa at Kahkewistahaw First Nation, and it was nothing short of amazing. The room was filled with love, laughter, and the joy of pampering these incredible women. From a delicious breakfast to beautiful flowers, every detail reflected the deep appreciation our community holds for its mothers.
