✅ Appointments now must be confirmed by 24 hours prior to your specific appointment time

✅ Same-day appointments must be confirmed within 30 minutes of receiving the confirmation request

Appointments that are not confirmed within these timeframes will be auto cancelled and offered to other clients.

We find that when we speak publicly about issues that our small business encounters we see an improvement in care and conversations - it is disheartening that we have to do it at all.

Our staff have encountered a high increase of racism, sexism, verbal abuse and requests to participate in insurance fraud. What makes these situations especially difficult is not that they happen occasionally—it is the frequency with which they occur 6-8 times per week for months now.

Let us be clear: our team will not tolerate discrimination, harassment, or abusive behaviour. We will also never compromise our integrity, professional standards, or legal obligations, regardless of who is asking. You will immediately be refused treatment, not refunded and banned from the clinic as per our intake waiver.

No one should have to endure racist comments, sexist remarks, intimidation, or harassment while simply doing their job. Staff have left work crying or had anxiety to attend their job.

We understand that people may be frustrated, or facing difficult circumstances in this economy. However, those frustrations do not justify directing abuse toward our team or expecting them to act unethically.

Due to the frequency of these incidents, we are taking a more diligent and proactive approach to protecting both our staff and our clients.

Supporting our staff is not at odds with providing exceptional service—it is essential to it. When our team feels respected and protected, they are better able to provide the compassionate, professional care and service our clients deserve. To ensure that remains the case, we are strengthening policies, reinforcing expectations around respectful conduct, and providing our team with the support they need to feel safe, valued, and empowered in their workplace.

Our hope in sharing this is not simply to address a problem, but to encourage reflection. We all have a role to play in shaping the communities we live and work in. If this conversation inspires even a few to consider how their words, actions, and interactions affect others, then it is a step toward creating a more respectful, compassionate society for everyone.
