A little post laser care ✨️

24 - 48 Hours Post-Treatment:

Avoid intense exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and extremely hot showers. Laser hair removal is a controlled “heat injury” targeting the follicle. Adding more heat can push it beyond the safe zone, increasing the risk of irritation or burns.

2 - 4 Weeks Post-Treatment:
Avoid direct sun exposure and apply SPF daily to the treated area. As extra sun exposure can cause burns, keep the treated areas covered and protected with SPF.

Until the End of Your Treatment:
Avoid waxing, tweezing, or epilating the treated area. Hair will fall out naturally between sessions and that’s exactly what we want to see! This indicates that the laser has effectively damaged the follicle, causing it to release the hair. Plucking intact hairs can interfere with your treatment progress. Feel free to shave inbetwen sessions to get rid of unwanted hair.

Proper prep ensures the best results and keeps your skin protected during treatment. Here’s what to do and what to avoid before your session:

6 Weeks Before Treatment:
• Avoid waxing, tweezing, epilating, or using hair removal/bleaching creams.
Laser hair removal targets the root of the hair follicle. These methods either remove the root or make it undetectable (bleaching), leading to less effective results.

2 Weeks Before Treatment:
• Avoid sun exposure and any form of tanning.
Laser settings are customized based on your Fitzpatrick Skin Type. Tanning increases melanin in the skin, which can increase the risk of burns if treated at your original Fitzpatrick grade.

3 Days Before Treatment:
• Stop using prescribed topical creams and/or washes, or skin care with active ingredients on the treatment area.
These can thin the skin and increase sensitivity or irritation during your session.

1 Day Before Treatment:
• Shave the treatment area with a sharp razor to ensure a close, clean shave.

The better the shave, the better the results!
