Stop and wonder ❤️

I keep coming back to the idea that wonder is not a distraction from hard things.

It’s a form of resistance.

When the world feels like it’s falling apart, there’s a voice that says you have no right to notice the way light comes through the trees or to feel your chest open beneath a night sky. That grief and vigilance are the only responsible responses.

But refusing beauty doesn’t help anyone. It simply hollows you out until you have nothing left to bring to the world.

You are allowed to hold both. The heartbreak of the world and its staggering beauty. I think you have to if you want to last.

Let yourself marvel today.

There is nothing foolish about wonder.

It’s one of the ways we keep going.

What a great reminder!! I’ve always tended to try to just wedge one more thing in to my schedule, complete one more task before I’m out the door …. And then I’m running behind and not bringing my full self to the task at hand (alway worried about getting to the next thing) and stressed!!!

I’ve been learning to build in margins. Honestly, since COVID - when at times I truly appreciated the enforced slower pace- I’ve learned to not over book my schedule. My days are calmer. I’m calmer. And I bring all of me to whatever and wherever I am

I’ll start! My daily walk. Right now, I get out there about 80% of the time, so I guess I’m still negotiating with myself some 🙄…. But I have goals!!
