I can’t believe we’re celebrating 18 years married today. 🥹🤍

To celebrate, here are 18 random facts about us and our journey together:

1. This first photo was taken when we first met. I was only 14! We stayed friends and didn’t reconnect and start dating until university.

2. Emil got my attention by throwing a baseball my way at a park. ⚾️

3. Emil was away at university on a soccer scholarship in Detroit, so we spent years doing the long-distance thing. ⚽️

4. There were a lot of love letters and a few breaks in between, but we always found our way back to each other and put in the work.

5. Emil proposed at the very same park where we met as teenagers. 🥹

6. We had a dog named Vegas, who passed away a few years ago. He’ll always be a special part of our story. 🐾

7. We got married in Toronto and had our reception at Atlantis with 300+ guests. If you remember the revolving dance floor, you know. 😂

8. Emil is definitely the more outgoing and social one, while I’m much more introverted. Somehow it works.

9. We did couples therapy earlier in our marriage and so glad that we did.

10. Emil always wanted lots of kids. I thought I only one. We went through a lot trying for a second, including two miscarriages, and it still makes me cry thinking about it.

11. He’s the chef of the house and claims my food is “too clean.” 🍽️

12. We’ve traveled to nearly 20 countries together. ✈️

13. One of us works out a lot more than the other. 👀

14. Emil grew up in a more traditional Filipino home and has brought many of those traditions into our family. 🇵🇭

15. This guy has over 600 unread emails. I have zero. 😅

16. His love language is physical touch and mine is words of affirmation.

17. Emil has our anniversary date tattooed on him... I don’t. 🤣

18. After 18 years, two daughters, the best memories and all of the highs and lows, we continue to choose each other over and over again. 🤍
