The difference between good nano brows and exceptional nano brows is in the details. ✨
One of the biggest mistakes I see artists make is focusing solely on creating “perfect” hair strokes without first studying the client’s natural brow growth pattern. The truth is, your client already has a blueprint. Our job isn’t to fight against it, it’s to enhance it.
Every single stroke should flow with the direction of the natural brow hairs. This creates a seamless blend between the client’s existing hair and the implanted strokes, making it nearly impossible to tell where one ends and the other begins. When strokes are placed against the natural growth pattern, the result can look choppy, disconnected, and unnatural no matter how crisp the work is.
Nano brows are about creating the illusion of hair, not drawing individual lines on the skin. That means considering growth patterns, density, spacing, pressure, and how the brows will look both immediately after the procedure and once they’re healed.
My approach is always to customize every set. No stencils for hair patterns, no one-size-fits-all templates. Every client’s brows have their own unique movement, and respecting that movement is what creates soft, realistic, hyper-natural results that age beautifully.
It’s the tiny details that most people never notice that separate average permanent makeup from luxury permanent makeup. And honestly, that’s my favourite part of the process. 🤍
What other nano brow tips would you like me to break down next?
So natural, I literally cannot envision a better brow for her wow !!
Nano brows can completely change the structure of a face when they’re done properly 👏🏼 This client was missing a large portion of her tail, so I carefully rebuilt and structured the brow to create balance, lift, and flow while still keeping it soft and natural looking. Every hair stroke was strategically placed to blend seamlessly into her existing brow pattern instead of looking stamped on.
Fresh brows will always appear warmer immediately after the procedure because the pigment is sitting very superficially in the skin at first. As the brows heal and settle, the colour cools out and softens to better match the natural tone of her brow hairs, creating a much more natural healed result ✨
One of the biggest signs your technique is on point… the needle glides, not drags.
You don’t have to force it. You don’t feel resistance. The stroke just flows.
When it’s right:
the machine sounds consistent, not choppy
the skin isn’t bunching or pulling
pigment lays in clean and even without multiple passes
you’re not needing pressure to get saturation
If you feel like you have to push… you’re too deep or your hand speed/voltage is off.
Good nano work feels smooth. If it feels like work, something needs adjusting.
Droopy brows don’t need more fullness… they need the right amount hair in the right areas.
When the tail sits too low, it can pull the whole face down. The fix isn’t to fill everything in… it’s to lift strategically.
With nano brows, I:
rebuild the tail slightly higher to create a lifted effect
avoid adding weight to the lower brow line
use soft, precise strokes to redirect the shape without it looking obvious
It’s not about changing your face… it’s about correcting the illusion.
A small shift in shape can completely open up your eyes.
Nano brows aren’t “one technique fits all”… they’re fully customized to what your natural brows are doing.
Fun facts:
No two stroke patterns I create are the same… they’re mapped to your natural growth direction
Less is more… overloading strokes is what makes brows look fake
Nano can be built up in layers over appointments for the most natural result
They heal softer than they look on day one… bold ≠ final result
They’re one of the easiest techniques to keep looking fresh long-term with proper touch ups
Natural doesn’t happen by accident… it’s intentional
Nano brows fun facts most people don’t know:
They’re done with a machine, not a blade… which means less trauma to the skin and better retention over time
The strokes are actually created pixel by pixel, which is why they can look so soft and realistic
They’re one of the best options for clients with little to no natural brow hair
Oily skin? Nano holds better than microblading in most cases
Healed results should fade neutral and soft… not patchy, grey, or blurry
Nano isn’t just a trend… it’s an evolution in technique
This is the kind of brow that throws most artists off… sparse in the front, missing tails, but super dense through the body.
If you treat the whole brow the same, it won’t blend. You’ll either overwork the dense area or leave the sparse areas looking disconnected.
With nano brows, I adjust everything:
ultra-light, airy strokes in the front to mimic natural growth
structured strokes through the middle to blend into existing density
strategic layering in the tail to rebuild shape without making it heavy
The goal isn’t to make every part identical… it’s to make it flow seamlessly.
“Brows turn blue over time” is one of the biggest myths I hear… and it’s usually from outdated work 👀
Brows don’t just randomly turn blue. That happens when:
• The wrong pigment undertone is used
• The pigment is placed too deep in the skin
• Low-quality pigments are used
What I do differently:
I choose pigments based on YOUR skin undertone (not just hair color), I work at the correct depth, and I use high-quality formulas that are designed to fade neutral… not ashy or blue.
Good work doesn’t turn blue. It fades softer and lighter over time 🤍
If you’ve seen blue/grey brows before, that’s not “normal”… it’s poor technique or poor pigment choice.
This is why who you go to matters.
