SOULCAP, a British brand making large swimming caps for people with diverse backgrounds and abilities, was initially denied approval by FINA for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics because they claimed the caps didn’t follow “the natural form of the head”.

This decision came as British swimmer and SOUL CAP Ambassador, Alice Dearing made history as the first Black female swimmer for Team GB. But today, SOUL CAP is approved for swimmers, driving inclusivity in sport.

As we celebrate Black hair and athletes like Alice Dearing, we’re reminded of our advocacy to exist and our freedom to express ourselves on a global stage. ⭐️🥇
