Yesterday I posted about the trapezius. Today will be its partner in crime, the latissimus dorsi. If you don't have functional lats, it's highly likely your traps are going to be tight and painful. With elevated and rolled in shoulders, the lats are being under utilized. They should help pull your shoulders back and down, but with all the computer work, cell phones use, texting, etc, we have a society that isn't using those beautiful muscles that connect our upper and lower bodies. Feel your armpit area. Is it mushy? If so, get those lats working!
