Garlic has been used for thousands of years as both a food and a traditional remedy. Beyond adding flavor to meals, garlic contains sulfur compounds, including allicin, which forms when garlic is crushed or chopped.
Research suggests garlic may help support:
• cardiovascular health
• healthy blood pressure levels already within the normal range
• immune function
• antioxidant activity in the body
One of the best ways to use garlic is fresh. Crushing it and allowing it to sit for 10–15 minutes before cooking helps maximize allicin formation.
While garlic isn't a cure-all, it reminds us that some of the most powerful health-supporting foods are often found right in our kitchen.

Today, science continues to confirm the value of many of these simple principles. Adequate sleep supports immune function. Sunlight helps regulate circadian rhythms and vitamin D production. Exercise improves cardiovascular and metabolic health. Water is essential for every cell in the body. Fresh air and time in nature can help reduce stress and improve well-being.
Natural remedies are not magic cures, nor should they replace necessary medical care. Rather, they remind us that the body was designed with remarkable healing capacities when given the right conditions.
God's original plan was not merely the absence of disease—it was abundant life through harmony with His physical, mental, and spiritual laws.
Sometimes the most powerful health interventions are not the most complicated.

Modern medicine has its place, but long before hospitals, pharmacies, and laboratories existed, God provided many simple remedies through nature to support healing and restoration.
Throughout Scripture, we see examples of God working through natural means. One of the most interesting examples is found in the story of King Hezekiah.
When Hezekiah became gravely ill, God promised that he would recover. Yet instead of healing occurring without any action, the prophet Isaiah instructed that a lump of figs be placed upon the boil as a poultice.
“For Isaiah had said, Let them take a lump of figs, and lay it for a plaister upon the boil, and he shall recover.” (Isaiah 38:21, KJV)
A poultice is a soft, moist preparation made from plants or other natural substances that is applied to the skin to support healing. In Hezekiah's case, God chose to work through a simple natural remedy while also granting divine healing.
The lesson is profound: God's power and natural remedies are not enemies. Often, God works through the very laws and resources He created.
Ellen White echoed this principle when she wrote:
“Pure air, sunlight, abstemiousness, rest, exercise, proper diet, the use of water, trust in divine power—these are the true remedies.” (The Ministry of Healing, p. 127)

Trust in God is the most important of the eight principles; without God, we have nothing! How's your faith in God? How's your faith in His ability to help you and heal you? How do you grow in your trust in God?
Pray more. Faith without works is dead. In His strength, do what He says to do.

When you are exposed to bright screens at night:
• melatonin production is delayed
• your circadian rhythm shifts later

Even if you feel tired, your internal biological clock may still think it is earlier in the day.
Over time, this mismatch between your environment and your internal clock can affect:

From a health perspective, light is one of the strongest signals that controls human biology. Morning light helps set your circadian rhythm. Evening darkness allows melatonin to rise properly.

This is also why creating darkness, quiet, and reduced stimulation before bed is so powerful—it supports the body’s natural transition into rest rather than fighting against it.
