Oil cleansers remove impurities like excess sebum (because oil attracts oil), it breaks down makeup, sunblock, as well as pollution. And water-based cleansers remove impurities like sweat, dirt, etc.
This method of cleansing has been around for centuries. It originated in Japan & Korea. Geisha's 💁♀️ 👘 used to do this to remove their makeup!
